Lol. I actually clicked on the link. I was hoping you'd found the Holy Grail.... How to permanently shut off MDS.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt problems

Kinda wish I saw this thread before putting down a deposit. I wondered why the salesman kept encouraging me to have it in sport. Also, is there any way to deactivate the engine braking?

The engine braking is a function of it being a performance model from what I understand...unfortunately I don't think you can shut it off...I kind of wish it was a little less dramatic too, especially in 4th.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt problems

In my opinion, that was really one of the only parts of the car I didn't like when I test drove it. It reminds me of the Bronco I had in college which would decelerate at an alarming rate when you took your foot off the gas; however that was due to aerodynamics and bad bearing rather than programming. I don't mind costing.

Re: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt problems

Hi guys one of my first contributing posts on here. Hello to everyone and thanks for all the great info on here!

To OP, has this issue been resolved for you?
I have just purchased a March 14 build GCSRT and has done 37k kms.
When test driven the dealer let me drive around the back streets of the area of the dealership and really only hit 80km/hr.
I bought the beast, got straight onto the freeway and full vibration through the car at 95-120 km/hr.
I called them within 5 mins of driving away.
So went in for first maintenance issue 5 days after owning. I told them I believed it was either front diff bushes or cv on the main driveshaft to the front diff. It just had all the signs and could feel the vibration through the passenger floor (Aus left side).
Anyway they had it for 2 days, didn't bother checking any of that, then fixed a heat shield on the exhaust and told me the problem was solved come pick up your car.
I pick the car up and drive away and back on the phone in 5 mins, they had fixed nothing and exact same issue was still very much there and easily recognised to anyone who came in the car with me.

Another appointment made 3 days later and this time they actually removed the front driveshaft from the TC / front diff.
One of the cv's on the shaft had no grease in it from factory and was completely stuffed knocking and grinding as I manually moved it around on the driveshaft in my hands. No wonder the car had such bad vibration!

The dealer has ordered a new one and I am still driving the car in 2 wheel drive.
What a revelation, now the car drives sooooo much better like it should. Vibration gone at this point.

Now I am focusing on the tyre drone and slight vibration from the Pirelli run flats on the front. They are being replaced with Falken S/TZ05 to match the rears the previous owner had installed.

Hopefully once new shaft is installed, tyres installed, I will be vibration free!

I hope this helps and gives you something for your dealer to look at.
Anth

Hey MexicanBatman!
haha they think I am a respectable business man and would do no such thing!!
Besides....that is what my 620rwkw FG GT is for!!!
Yes I am AnthGT335 from AFF

I bought the SRT to tow my GT for times when I have the full rollcage bolted in and cannot drive it on the roads like that.

I must say I am loving the SRT! 2 wheel drive is fun!

cheers

In 2wd from a stand still when you nail it does it spin the tyres?

I'm considering getting a thingy that allows me to operate in 2wd mode

Just for the odd skid for laughs

So glad I saw this. I have been wondering about this coast/drag issue since I bought my '14 a few months ago. I let off the throttle to gradually slow down in advance of a stop sign and it feels like I'm pulling a parachute, like it just doesn't want to let go. Now I know this is how the vehicle is designed. Can't say I'm a big fan of it, especially when driving the vehicle gently. Wish it would only do that in sport or track mode somehow.

Ok turns out it does....track mode, stand still, floor it and she spins the tyres up through the gears. I didn't hang around to see how much better it would be changing manually with a bit of foot on the brake....

Anyone have a link to the "thingy"
