(As an aside, what in your emotional response are you attributing to Churchill?)

2. Your response is seriously flawed by a basic material fallacy: you reason ad homimem, Hogkp, attacking an individual rather than the individual's assertions and conclusions. In other words, your response is inherently irrational. Moreover, if you genuinely believe that "this forum is intended to reach out to people and not to be belligerent and condescending to others," you must also believe--given your ad hominem reaction--that name-calling is part of the forum's purpose.

3. Consider your own posts in this thread, Hogkp. Your new 2016 SRT created "rubbing or grinding [sounds] under acceleration" [my emphasis]. To diagnose the problem, you claimed that you successfully captured video images of the left front brake assembly purportedly "spitting a flame under braking" [my emphasis]. The braking, you added, was "not hard braking and [was done] in the wet." Then, you posted that a dealer had "found the problem....it was the exhaust shield rubbing up on the front side shaft." When questioned about your assertion that, during braking, your SRT's left brake assembly "spit a flame," you posted a video clip which shows, at best, two seconds of sparks coming from the area near the left brake assembly, adding that the "the dealer found out that the exhaust heat shield above the left front side shaft was rubbing under load when turning left." In other words, Hogkp, the "flame" was not generated by the left front brake assembly but by a heat shield and a "side shaft" grinding and creating sparks. However, based on your knowledge of motorsports, you insisted on pointing out that the "flames" were a natural consequence of the materials in the brake pads creating friction with the brake disc; you even added that "hauling 2.5 ton down from a 100 kp/h to zero fast creates high levels of friction and heat." And while you implicitly conceded that the video clip shows sparks, you asserted that the sparks were normal and unrelated to the problem which the dealer had solved. Consequently, Hogkp, your own words indicate that (i) you used light brake application in the wet to stop your "2.5 ton" SRT "fast," and (ii) the light brake application was so forceful that it generated a flame, flames, or sparks.

4. If one light application of the brakes in wet conditions creates sparks in your SRT's left brake assembly, Hogkp, then your SRT has an issue of concern. If, on the other hand, the sparks were created by friction between a heat shield and a shaft, then the dealer has solved your problem.

5. Your report about your weekend drive of your SRT "through the cannons" will be revealing, I'm sure. If the problem has been alleviated, then everything's good.
Well said

Once I have taken it through the cannons over the weekend I will let you know
I also experience this noise occasionally in my 2011 5.7 GC in sport mode under heavy acceleration on a bumpy, right hand clover leaf during my commute. Thanks for the info.
