4WD transfer case problem

Hi, I am posting this for a friend of mine who has EU spec 2014 SRT8 but his english would not allow for approaching this forum.

His car is second in Prague experiencing this problem - front axle is not getting torque (at least in snow mode) resulting car being unable to climb even modest uphills on snow (snow tires installed) when rear wheel spinning all the time. When the car made it back home there was some hydraulics liquid found underneath the front part of the car.

I have researched and found some TSB regarding shaft boots and transfer case seals - could this be related? His car should be early 2014 production.

Any input greatly appreciated, importer in Prague is clueless so far and has no access to 4x4 dyno. Thanks!

This sounds serious and I'm not sure just the TSB will correct it. But at minimum, you should do the TSB. I'm no expert here, but I thought the transfer case used high viscosity oil, not hydraulic liquid, so the two problems may be unrelated.

You need more help here. Maybe you should post this under general discussion...it might get more attention. Just trying to be helpful.

Re: 4WD transfer case problem

Funny....I just returned from Prague yesterday. Wish I had good news for your friend but I would say he has something going on internally which is not a simple fix. Hopefully he can locate an authority for some help. Love your city...been there many times (girlfriend from there).
