HI ALL!! I just have a couple questions regarding my 2014 Jeep Cherokee SRT8.
1) First off, I am going absolutely INSANE wondering and wishing that the UConnect access will come to Canada. (like with the app to start/lock vehicle etc.) Anybody have an idea or know when it will be transitioned into Canada?
2) Sometimes my backup camera goes solid blue - Does this happen to anybody else? Why does it sometimes do this??
3) What kind of cleaning supplies does everybody use on the dash and door panels? Its al leather and I want to use something that will get it nice and shiny and new again. And for the suede on the seats and the section on the door panels, what does everybody use for the suede?
4) This summer, I want to do some mods to it to beef it up and add some power, I'm a power junkie chick and this is my 4th SRT8 and unfortunately, for the 2014 its the slowest when it comes to power... Any ideas on what I can do? I was thinking the bwoody exhaust & some kind of cold air. Will this affect my warranty???
Thanks In advance to anyone who helps me out with my questions!!!! :)

Where in Canada do you live?

#1 No idea

#2 See response above. A reflash to the latest version should have you smiling again

#3 You're kidding, right? Nothing is supposed to be shiny on the dash/door panels. It's passé, from what I was made to understand way back when I had my 06' Charger SRT8. I think it's even discouraged in the owners manual, not sure though. But if you insist, the ole Armor All is prolly your best bet

#4 I'm not sure your claims about the WK2 being slower are well-founded. The impression I got from reading threads about comparisons is that they're pretty well the same. The WK2 is a fat pig, but with 50hp more than the WK1. Pretty well balances out, from my understanding

There's a guy named Jim383 from Cali who's a test & stats freak. I think he rents a cot at the local race track. :p
He reports that to date, none of the typical add-ons like CAI's, tunes or cat-backs have really made any earth-shattering differences. It may be too soon to find what really makes a difference, though I've read that these engines are so tapped, it's hard to extract much more as-is.

Jez my opinion based on what I've read so far.

I live in Alberta... lloydminster to be exact. Border city of canada, 2 hours east of Edmonton. Yeah about the older SRT being quicker... I was just beating around and along comes this 08 silver SRT... It had a throttle body kit on it and mind you this is after the initial break in period on my 14 SRT... And it whopped my butt. Could just need more of a break in, who knows. Haven't found another contender as we have 15 foot snow banks here... Fun. And is it better for street racing in track mode or sport? I'm a chick and not used to the technologies haha. I had an 06 trailblazer SS AND Then an 08 cherokee SRT8... So I'm used to old school, step on gas and ride haha.
I want to put in a CAI & borla cat back but I'm petrified to f anything up... Or screw my warranty completely. Mhmmmmm!!!!!!

Be patient. The 6.4 seems to need a much longer period to really loosen up, some people report noticing a real difference once they've had a few thousand miles on the truck.

As well, the WK2 is more...refined. The WK1 was a in-your-face, rougher-riding truck that allowed you to feel the engine, road etc a lot more. Also, what's your best 0-60 times to date?

Be patient, you'll be fine.

PS: Don't hate me, I'm from Quebec. Federalist, but still from Quebec

To be honest, not even sure what my best time was. I bought it in winter a couple monthes ago and I haven't been able to fully floor it. Just a few off the line street races. Only one I lost was to this silver SRT 08... I swear I think he had more done to it... Who knows!! So track mode is best for off the line, racing? It's almost time for dry pavement so I am rediculously exited to see what my girl really has!!!

The 14 really wakes up after 3000 miles....it gets faster with more miles imho. I consistently get a 3.7 0-60 with basic mods. BWoody cai, borla atak, 180 t stat and 87mm tb. Ran 3 runs at a test and tune and lowest was a 12.23...slowest was a 12.55. I don't think any wk's did that without more mods.

hey Kendra , im west of u here in Edmonton, im goin to follow ur post , im goin to do some mods to my 14 too, ive spent hours on this site tryin to figure out what mods to do 1st, jus waitin to get some miles on her 1st .
Awesome! Not to far!! I come to Edmonton tons... I think I'm going to to the borla atak & the bwoody CAI. I heard really good things about it! BUT at the same time I'm sooooo paranoid to ruin the warranty. I paid an arm and a leg for my baby and I don't want to hurt anything

Another Albertan Here Fort Mac... I got 4.7 sec with no performance mods other then Hemifever 91 tune. And I only have 2000 km. I should of resist the urge of using the launch button during the break in of my engine, but couldn't help it.

Bwoody CAI , not sure what kind of exhaust i'll put in since i'm not happy with the stock exhaust sound. TB is worthless without headers put in..

None of theses bolt on mods will void warranty, and if the dealer challenges that they have to prove that the mods is a direct source of the problem in hand.

What's the best time to use launch? I'm scared to use it (never used it yet myself) like I mean on a long straight stretch of pavement? I'm just scared I'll hit a bump or a curve and lose control... And how is the launch button? Is it pretty intense? What's the best option to do it with? Track mode? Sport mode? Auto??? TIA!!!!!!!!
Love this site

Thank you so much! I've had her for a few months now, but 5 of it was winter, so I'm pretty exited for summertime!! Been impatiently waiting to try out the launch to. But I'm definitely going to make sure I get a really good feel of my baby first. Thanks again
