Re: Annoying Rattle

If you are still experiencing the problem in SPORT mode then the TSB Flash will not correct your concern

Re: Annoying Rattle

Thank you very much. I had been looking for my rattle and couldn't find it after moving all of my junk in the car and the spare tire well. I really do appreciate all of you and this web site.

Sorry for the old thread resurrection but I have a vehicle built after the date on the TSB that has the same bad clunking in the rear. I removed everything from the back, spare, spare cover, jack, everything and the problem didn't go away.

On a whim I put the truck in sport and track mode on a road that makes it pound really bad and the noise pretty much went away. That proves there's nothing loose in the rear.

Now, I just hope the dealer doesn't play games with the TSB, saying my truck isn't eligible because it was built after the date on the notice......

Re: Annoying Rattle

I also had the update done for the rear noise, the Jeep is currently back at the dealer for a high pitched "squeak" from the left front strut. The dealer told me today the SRT8 engineers are saying Bilstein had a batch of contaminated fluid causing us SRT8 guys alot of issues.

They are ordering a new strut.

Re: Annoying Rattle

Update, The dealer claims to have applied the TSB but the clunking still exists, though it does seem to be less (could be my imagination). I'm going to take it back and register a complaint to see if that gets any action. A $65,000 vehicle shouldn't sound like the suspension is bottoming out on rough roads that my sports cars have no problem with.

Re: Annoying Rattle

YES!

Just took delivery of my SRT8 last week and I notice a pretty loud rattling noise out of the rear of the car that resonates throughout the cabin.

It sounds like a loose exhaust mount or a tailgate thats not fully closed, but everything seems really solid back there. I only notice the rattle when the car has been parked for a while, and it seems to go away as i drive the car.

Is this the same issue others are experiencing? I haven't yet noticed a clunking sound when going over speed bumps.

Thanks

Re: Annoying Rattle

same thing here after a while of driving it goes away however sometimes when driving on auto and at low speed i hear clunking sound

i have the latest TSB update which is 22-8-2012 but didnt apply the 5-9-2012 TSB update because the dealer in kuwait doesnt have a clue about it

still its better than before the noise is way less

Re: Annoying Rattle

Just a quick follow up on the exhaust rattle.

I had my Borla S (axle back) installed a couple of weeks ago and my rattle is GONE!

Not sure if others had the same rear end rattle sound as I did at start up, but mine was obviously due to poor alignment of the stock exhaust system.

Re: Annoying Rattle

Had a rattle and brought jeep in. They didn't apply any of the TSB's. all they did was adjust the exhaust because it was bumping transfer case when I drive over bumps because of poor alignment and problem fixed.
