Bizarre Exhaust Occurance
In the midst of a vacation holiday family drive of about 150 miles, we stopped for gas and relief. I fill the seemingly infinite tank and then grab a squeegee to clean the glass. As I approach the back of the Jeep I notice some goldish strands of "flax" just inward of the passenger side exhaust tip. I'm thinking what the heck could have possibly got sucked into the exhaust pipe or whether someone nearby was being malicious. So I reach down and begin the process of pulling out a yellow/gold 50 foot long ladies wig! Soon realized that it was the fiberglass from either the resonator or muffler. Came to an end before it occurred to me that I should have grabbled my work gloves from the trunk (took some time to pull out all the damn fibers from my hands).
At idle there is no noticeable increase in the sound volume from that side. Didn't test it at a higher RPM. No check eng light. No temp. fluctuations. No other noticeable changes of any kind.
Anyone else ever have this odd experience?
