Black door trim on B pillar separating?

Passenger rear door black trim along window edge coming apart at top of door. Anyone else experience this? I left my vehicle parked at airport for a week and upon return I noticed it was partially detached at top door edge. The 3+ inch width section butts up against front door. Might be attached with 3M. Haven't looked closely at it.

I'll take a pic and post later today.

had the same issue with my 2014 on passenger side. Was pretty bad and stuck out about 5". So went to the dealer to get an estimate for the fix (out of warranty). Service guy comes out laughing saying "hope you still have your warranty" then told me it would be at least $1,000!! Yea forget that....$5 worth of epoxy and a few hours with clamps holding it on and it hasn't popped back out. Been about 3 months now so far so good!

Hey guys -

I'm the guy Tinman referenced in this thread.

Definitely get it fixed by the dealer as soon as you can.

I just left the dealer here in Raleigh (Leith Chrysler Jeep). I had called and asked to double-check the warranty on fixing the chip/dent and they said over the phone "we'll have a look but your bumper-to-bumper 3yr/30k should cover it - no problem".

When I showed up the service manager had a look and asked who put the (new) piece on. He said Chrysler wasn't going to cover it because there's no proof it came off and hit the door. I showed him the picture 20 min after it happened (with piece missing), the receipt from their partners dept of me buying the new one. Still no go. I got pretty heated about it and said I'd give Chrysler a call. Probably not going to happen - I have no confidence in any of them.

Can I just say how much I despise dealers. Stupid me for even thinking I'd have an advocate there. And for taking the effort to fix the easy problem myself.

I told my wife I'm pretty close to just selling the "dream jeep" and moving on. I keep having these little experiences that make me depressed to drive it. So sad.

Thanks for letting me vent. Get your trim fixed before it causes more damage.

effing dealers.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but this issue happened to me. Both sides had the issue, making all sorts of wind noise and I was afraid they would fly off and hit another car. Took to the dealer thinking it would be covered by my Maxcare and was told they aren’t covered. Dealer charged me $274 to have them replaced. Absolutely outrageous given they are just just plastic and taped on. I tried to call corporate and they also gave me the run around and said it isn’t covered. In all my years of owning cars, I’ve never had fascia just fall off. By given I’ve had so many other issues, why should I be surprised that Jeep can’t even glue a piece of plastic on right? @jeepcares: care to weigh in here?

On my old SRT this happened to me as well. I used a combination of double sided 3M tape and gorilla glue.

Hi - I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and I noticed the exact thing happening to mine today. Black trim along the window edge between the front and rear door on the driver's side is coming apart from the top. When I close the door it is hitting. I'm obviously over the 3yr/36k manufacturers warranty; however, I do have an extended warranty I will need to check if it is covered. My jeep is a 3.0L ecodiesel and part of the class action lawsuit, which I opted out of and went with a separate attorney due to already having multiple emissions issues which the class action wouldn't have covered. This is just one more reason why I am reconsidering ever buying another Jeep. Anyone have any success with the manufacturer covering this after the initial warranty period? There is no reason why it should be coming apart when 20+ year old vehicles stay together.
