Clicking at full lock

All of a sudden last couple days, this noise appeared.

It happens at full lock. Also, when the Jeep is stopped and I start to turn the wheel for a half second, it is delayed and then it is smooth to turn the wheel the rest of the way (this happens when I turn the wheel when the car is stopped, to lets say pull out of a spot or make a uturn).

Any idea fellas?

Re: Clicking at full lock

hmm, sounds like an air wrench in the distance does not sound like the classic low ps fluid, rack gear whine/grind but....how's ps fluid level? have you crawled under to see if your rack bellows boot just to the right of the rack (pass side) is wet from ps fluid? Mine was and the rack outer seal was going so they had to replace the rack. Exact same thing happened on my '14 Summit.

Re: Clicking at full lock

I'm so sorry to hear about this! I would recommend bringing this to your dealership's attention. Please let me know if you would like assistance in scheduling an appointment with your local service department. I'd be happy to help in any way I can!

I have an appointment for this Tuesday. I cant go to my local dealer (Manhattan Jeep) because they are a bunch of hacks.

I have a friend who is a tech at RT18 Jeep in East Brunswick, NJ. So I go 40 miles out of my way for good service. Shouldnt have to do that but FCA does nothing about all the complaints they get about Manhattan Jeep so this is what I have to do.

And I gotta say I have had quite a few issues with this Jeep and its not even my first year of ownership yet. Thank goodness I bought a lifetime maxcare as down the road I can see this Jeep being in the dealer more often.

Re: Clicking at full lock

Damn now I am getting a constant whine when accelerating. Hope this is related to the p/s pump.
