Like yours, they did the flash, and valve body. Then moved on to replacing the entire transmission and torque converter. After all that they told me the it was running normally and the couldn't do any more for me. I got ahold of my case worker at FCA and demanded to take it to another dealership. They obliged, but I had to take it to an "SRT specialist". The new dealership admitted right away it was NOT running properly and proceeded to replace both front and rear driveshafts the entire rear end and both left and right rear half shafts. All this and 52 days later my SRT still wasn't fixed. At that point FCA decided to replace it with a new SRT. Please keep in mind my SRT only had about 250 miles on it when my problems started. I think it had almost 3k when they replaced it. About 2k were put on by me trying to get the Jeep to relearn its shifting with absolutely no improvement. The other 1k or so we're put on by various technicians, service managers, and area reps. I really didn't want it back after being torn apart and driven around the block by everyone and their brother. It was supposed to be my sunny day vehicle, but it was being driven through all the salt and snow here in Michigan. It was heartbreaking. Hopefully your experience is less painful.

On my hellcat if I set the trans to sport or track the shifts are rough unless I drive it hard. If I set the trans to street or default it changes very smooth. Love the auto trans in the hellcat like the jeep but perfected.

So you have to slam on your brakes every time you stop to get it to downshift smoothly without clunking?

No, not at all. Reading about other member's experiences I guess I never had the "trans clunk" or it wasn't as bad.

It's absolutely infuriating not being able to come to a stop without lurching forward in your seat. After driving it in stop and go traffic I wanted to drive the dam thing off a cliff. I'm happy to say my new one is awesome!

This is exactly how I feel. I hope they can repair it or make it right. It's obviously not the way a $60-70k vehicle should drive. And when people say it's a performance vehicle, it infuriates me. Drive any other performance vehicle and tell me it shifts like this thing does.

My thoughts exactly.

I've wondered if it was something in the transfer case. It was the only drivetrain component that was not replaced other than the front half shafts.

I had been in touch with a gentleman in Texas that went through this same thing with his jeep and finally got it resolved after the transfer case was replaced. He even set me his work orders from the dealership. I could see if I can still dig those up if you want.

I also read on the Internet of a guy having similar issues with his jeep and was able to diagnose the transfer case by driving it in reverse while holding the steering wheel at full left or right lock. While doing that, his transfer case would make a clicking noise. It may be something you could try anyway.

After mine was torn apart so many times I wasn't about to offer that up to the dealership. I just wanted it replace with a new jeep that didn't have a twelve page service record destroying its resale value.

I've got about 3,100 miles on mine (2015) and even after multiple reflashes it still clunks, sometimes minor, other times a loud pop which I hear even with the radio on. I bought mine from Ziegler in Schaumburg, but have actually taken it to Feeny in Barrington for service as its more convenient for me and after having a bad experience at Ziegler (where the tech. didn't fully tighten the oil filter which led to oil spewing out all over the place ). But Feeny has only told me that it's normal and they all do this (funny because that is obviously not the case). Since we're both in the same area we should partner up and both raise hell with Ziegler. Admittedly I haven't called the SRT hotline yet, but plan to when I'm back from my bus. trip.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Mine used to clunk, all software updates applied, adaptions cleared and still clunked. So I drove it hard, and I mean really hard for about 2k's, the clunk slowly disapeared on its own and now I have the smoothest ZF8 I've ever driven in any car.

It went in for a service not long ago and they cleared adaptions again, now I cant even feel it changing up or down when cruising around.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Actually yes they have been very helpful and understanding. I took the service manager for a ride and he said.... Yes defintly noticeable and shouldn't be like that...The truck is there right now, I dropped it off last night, and I'm driving a wrangler (I might trade in the SRT lol, I like this thing, lifted it would be cool!)but back to the story, They ordered a new trans and said hopefully it should be done tomorrow, I have a feeling it's not the trans, the more and more I listened I could imagine it being the transfercase because it feel like slack somewhere. Ohhh well what do I know. I just hope it gets fixed.
