Is yours a 2015 model year?

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Well picked up my 2014 SRT after 10 days in the shop, second time for my trans issues...first good news, my jeep did not have any new damage, like scratches or dirty upholstery, came back just ad good as when I dropped it off, yippy! Now the trans seems better, the harsh 5-4 is gone, but I picked up a little harshness in the 6-5 downshift, but really not too bad.... Haven't driven too much yet, but it does seem to be better so far.... We will see what happens in a couple of thousand miles, if anything new pops up, I will post..... I can smell alittle trans fluid, I assume they may have spilled some on the pipes or something, as I haven't seen anything leaking

Not to rain on your parade, but it seems like if you read this thread, that after a battery reset/flash typically the trans behaves better during the "learning" period, upon which it "learns" to shift crappily because the software is still suspect. Hoping for the best for you but definitely interested to hear if it stays resolved after ~1000 miles.

Agreed. I'm glad you got her back, but keep an ear on that 6-5.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Got my SRT back yesterday. My district Rep. Is now claiming it's driving normal. I told my case manager I want to meet my district Rep and take her for a drive to demonstrate the problem. We'll see. I think they don't know how to fix it so they're going to try to get me to go away. I'll keep you posted. So far my awful SRT experience. Only 2,282 mile now.

1. Valve body
2. Check all software is up to date.
3. Replace transmission and tq converter.
4. Deny, deny, deny.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Just went for a ride with the new dealerships service manager. He can't believe anyone would think this is normal or acceptable. He wouldn't accept this in a $20k car. He also doesn't feel like it's in the transmission at all. He's thinking that it's in the rear end or rear suspension. I took him on a 10 minute drive and it did it no less than 50 times. He didn't even need to drive because the problem was so obvious to him. He's going to call my district manager and inform her that "yes" there is still a problem with this vehicle. The bad part is they can't get it in until the middle of next week, but I'm just going to leave it anyway. Finally someone isn't pushing this off as normal. Also they are going to see about replacing both front headlights due to the moisture in them. We'll see...

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

I'm glad they now agree you have a problem, but the real problem is that no one seems to know how to really fix it or whats causing it.... My dealer has never doubted there was a problem, but has also never been able to correct it, even with the help of Chrysler & SRT hotline.... And from this forum, even a trans replacement has not corrected the problem....maybe the problem lies elsewhere but where, I don't have the clunk problem, just weird downshifts, maybe its something in the transfer case, but it certainly seems more like a trans problem, at least in mine..... Good luck, hope they find something to fix yours, keep us posted

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Well he said if they couldn't fix it he'd help me go through the process of getting it replaced with a new one. It was encouraging, but also just talk at this point. I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Wow,....at least they know it's not right and actually admitted it.
Why haven't they come out with a recall for this yet? Seems like more people than not have this problem.
Good luck!
