Yes please let us know...this would support the theory that the jerking/harshness and the clunk sound are related but separate issues.

Yes good luck sounds like disappointing news to a jeep that isn't that old is it covered under warranty

Yes. It only has 2,400 miles. It's been an issue since it had about 250 miles. It's definitely not the start I wanted, but I'm still wanting to keep it or get another one.

I tend to think you may be right, i,ve had 2 valve body replacements and all updates, and I went from a rough 5-4 to now it's a rough 6-5.... No real improvement as yet.... Since this trans is used in so many up scale vehicles, its hard to believe that these trans are all bad, but then I wonder why some seem to be fine, same software???? Like you, I love this SRT, but this trans issue sucks! I really hope they can find the real cause and a permanent solution

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Good news! Got a call tonight from Jeep Resolution. They're going to go ahead and replace my SRT! I should be getting a call in 6-10 days from another person to work out the details. I'm just ecstatic and yes I asked her if this was an April fools day prank.

That's awesome. Congrats!
So,....how does this work? Do you have to give them your current Jeep now? If that is the case, are they supplying you with a loaner till you get your new Jeep?

I'm so relieved to be getting a fresh start with a new vehicle. Somebody pinch me.

I'm still responsible for my current SRT. Insurance and payment wise. It sounds like I may get it back to drive for the time being, however it's still at the dealership getting repaired. I don't know if they are going to go ahead with the rear diff and axles at this point. My new service manager told me this morning that he's going to keep working on it until someone tells him to stop. I'm just going to wait to hear from somebody from Chrysler about the details. I was told it could be 30 days to work out the details with my bank so it maybe a while until I get another one delivered. The wait sucks, but I'm getting a new SRT and that's what I wanted. I'll update with more details as I learn them for future reference.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

Well, ~350 miles on my '15 and today I noticed the dreaded 6-5 downshift pop, clunk, noise, whatever you want to call it. I guess it could have occurred since day 1, but never really noticed it until today with the radio off. When I got home, took it out and of the downshifts from 6-5 it did it about 50% of the time. I guess I'll at least get the TSB done, but sounds like that isn't going to take care of it. My fear is that it will only get worse / louder with more miles............

Not good news. That's about the mileage mine started at. Rlarsen's as well. If the tsb doesn't fix it. Tell your service manage they can cross of the valve body, trans, torque converter, and the rear driveshaft assembly off the list of culprits. Have them start with the diff and transfer case instead.

Re: Clunk/thunk on 6-5 coasting downshift.

I have been watching this tread with interest since it started. I have a 15 SRT that was delivered early Feb (early Dec order date) and now I have 1250 miles on it - I DO NOT so far have any of the issues that are being discussed and believe me I am listening to mine everytime I drive it. The only thing I have in Sport mode is a couple of delayed (not crisp) shifts under power in 5-6th but it is getting better so most like a "learn" pattern that is taking care of itself!

With that said, I appreciate all the information and feel bad for all of you that have these issues. As it has been said, these transmissions are in quite a bit of German and other vehicles so my best guess is the SRT programming for the Jeep is causing some issues. Hopefully with the new TSB's and all of us banding together to get Jeep to correct will take care of the issues. I for one love my SRT and hope that mine does not all of a sudden develop these issues.

Thanks for keeping all of us in the loop with the issues, TSB's and now Jeep stepping up to replace your vehicle! Ron
