Re: Coolant temps
Ok I guess I have to explain this again. IF your vehicle is low on oil and I am saying IF (not that i know for a fact it is) you will consume more antifreeze and thereby have an engine that runs warmer. Do you understand this? I am simply trying to help a fellow Jeep discussion member trouble shoot his vehicle. It is a proven engineering concept that IF and I mean IF his vehicle is low on oil it will use antifreeze and vice versa. This doesn't apply only to jeeps but all liquid cooled engines (Jeep Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, etc.). Now as for the original post, his vehicle may call for a different weight of oil than my vehicle. I would suggest checking the owner's manual or with the dealer for proper grade of oil. I know that 2005 GC's with a 5.7 Hemi use 5W20 that's all I'm saying.
