Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

I have never seen a dealer in NC leave the stickers off. Even the BMW, Mercedes, and Rolls-Royce dealers put them on...it is not just a Jeep dealer thing.

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

When I was negotiating the price I made it very clear that any dealer badging on the truck would make any contracts null and void. Salesman was a motorhead and agreed wholeheartedly.

So all and all, remove it.

Yes I did the same. Had the salesman put it in writing, and hi-lite it in bright orange on the sales contract. Even went to the dealership a day before it arrived to remind them...... guess what happened??

Two holes drilled into my front bumper with dealer logoed plate brackets on front and rear!

Told them to go F**K themselves, keep the Jeep, & ordered another one from a dealer down the road!

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

I can't stand having the front license plates on any vehicle. Sure I end up with holes in the bumper but that's better than a bulky plate and holder. I always throw away the plates and frames when I get home. I have my own frame that says "If it ain't dirty, it ain't loved" and for a Jeep I find that to be the perfect saying for it!

All the vehicles I've bought, new or used, never had a dealer sticker or emblem on it from the start. Not sure if they had a psychic feeling or a vibe not put that annoying thing on or the detailer, like me when I would detail cars for a dealership, would never put them on because it looked stupid.

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

I went to test drive a used charger srt the other day and the used car dealer drilled holes in the front bumper to install one of their plates!!! I told the owner it was the reason why i wasnt buying from them.

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

I told my dealer during buying my Wk that I do not want any dealer ad shit on my new jeep at all. You just have to ask.

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

Agree with the OP about dealers just taking the liberty of advertising at the owners expense. I have always said if you want to pay me to advertise your dealership then by all means leave the stickers, emblems or what ever on the vehicle and I will stop by monthly for a check. Otherwise please remove your dealership info from a vehicle I just purchased.

Re: Dealer Emblems- WHY WHY

The dealer isn't paying me to advertise for them, so as soon as I purchase the vehicle, out comes the Goo Gone to remove the decals and the screwdriver to remove the license plate frame. I also flip the dealer plastic/paper disposable plates around so the blank sides are facing outwards (if I'm waiting on state tags).

There is a CDJR dealership in the area that used to put decals on: the rear spare tire cover (Liberty, etc), lower left-hand corner of rear tailgate window, lower left-hand corner of tailgate, and the license plate frame.

I kid you not, there's a used dealership about 30 minutes away from me that actually puts the saleman's name on the decal. So just imagine driving around with a decal that literally says "This car was sold by Bob Smith" above the dealer's logo. It's like the vehicle got a tramp stamp with your salesman's name!

If the dealer treated you well, what's wrong with giving them some free advertising, at least 'til your plates come in? Sometimes doing something nice for someone else, without being paid, is a good thing.

Everyone we do business with isn't an enemy.

Just sayin'

It's personal preference. I think it looks tacky. If the dealer has met or exceeded my expectations, then I will give referrals by word-of-mouth, which is actually more effective than driving around with dealer emblems on my ride. I've given many, many referrals to my salesman from this last go-round.

In fact, the dealer probably couldn't even pay me to keep their emblems on my Jeep.
