I always take off the dealer stickers when I get everything on the vehicle, so maybe a few weeks. Does it look tacky, to some it does and others they are fine with it. Word of mouth might be more effective but you driving around with their tags still on gets seen by more people. Some people make a decision on what they see and where that vehicle or product came from.
As Bill stated, sometimes it is good to do the place you bought from a good deed in free promotion. For as much as we are driving our vehicles, how much are we truly looking at those little tags. All personal preference
