Angry Dealer Service Charges

Took my 2013 SRT8 to the dealer for 50,000 kilometer (30,000 mile) service. They serviced transmission, transfer case and replaced the air filter. Cost $1200 in Sydney... wtf!?

Re: Dealer Service Charges

WTF? What did they do to your tranny to claim that price? A good air filter is sun $20US. Installed.

Re: Dealer Service Charges

From what I found on the Jeep AU site, it should have been $705 for a 24month or 48k km service. Did you ask for anything to be done in addition to the service ?
You can find the pricing here for all the dealers: Jeep® Australia: Service Booking

Re: Dealer Service Charges

Apparently the 8 speed is$700 but for some reason the 5 speed is $1200. Fluids are expensive, they said...

Re: Dealer Service Charges

The ZF 8sp is sealed for life and does not need servicing apparently.
I would be asking the dealer why the serviced a transmission that does not need servicing.

Re: Dealer Service Charges

Wow. Tranny service on the 2011 WK2 with coupon is just $150 at the dealer or a transmission specialty shop in the city of Rochester. Other dealers charge $250 but that replaced all the fluids and filters and washers. They all use MOPAR AT3, or the most current MOPAR transmission fluid recommended from Jeep.

What do they do for $700, that's so different beside fluids and filter change outs? I know prices vary greatly throughout the states but for over $500 they should explain exactly what else they do others than change fluids and the exterior and interior filters plus gaskets. Those prices are insanity.
