Default Eco-Mode on SRT?

I just recently traded my '14 Overland w/ 5.7 Hemi for a '14 SRT...One thing I noticed is that when I start the car that the default for Eco Mode appears to be disabled. Is this normal for the SRT models? My Overland would retain my settings Eco Mode preference.

Or am I missing an update / flash which allow for my settings to be retained?

I do a lot of commuting in the city so I'd prefer to use Eco-Mode during my drive to and from work. Otherwise I'm getting 8-10MPG or less versus 18-ish.

Re: Default Eco-Mode on SRT?

Interesting. i didnt know the 14's SRT have this feature. Cool. I'm going in today to get the latest TSB(released 1/24/15) where the 5.7's will retain the memory. Well i guess in your case, not cool LOL. I feel you though on the city commute. I normally get about 17-18 and when i disable the eco i fall to 14 or so.

Also, curious is your SRT new or pre-owned? Did you put cash in plus trade in?

My SRT was new - It was a leftover and had been sitting on the lot for quite some time. I put 10% down in cash plus my trade allowance.

Re: Default Eco-Mode on SRT?

Have a 15 SRT, all updates were done (though it was built after the update to ECO mode memory retention came out anyway).

Default OFF, no memory, has to be turned on if you want it.

I understand the thought, it IS an SRT but the MEMORY ability seems really to be the best solution for all. Or at the very least, change the default based on the drivers preference as part of the seat / mirror / entertainment memory.

Thanks - I figured that this was just the way it was because it's an SRT.

Re: Default Eco-Mode on SRT?

Funny reading your post ! I just traded in my 2014 Overland with 35 000 Km , was very happy with it but was missing something . Found this 2014 SRT with 300 KM , new at dealer and did the trade in ,am extremely happy although my Eco mode button never turns on , no matter if on Highway or in city .

I now have 1200 Km and the light nver turns on and no icon appear in the display , am wondering if its normal . I know I didn't buy the SRT to save fuel , far from it , but would like this feature to work on my long commute to work , don't need the full power there .

I tried looking for a fuse or a setting ,found neither .

Re: Default Eco-Mode on SRT?

The eco mode on my '14 SRT is off by default, pushing the button turns it on, with a led to indicate.

MDS turns on/off automatically. The ECO mode needs to be activated manually. If you want to be in ECO mode, you need to press the button to turn it on. Two separate systems.

Too many mods to list for each, so let's just say a lot was done over the years.
