I noticed today that both sides of my Jeep have the plastic fender flares peeling up.. Anyone else notice the plastic trim above the wheels coming unstuck yet? ITs only held on with adhesive and ill be going to the dealership to have it fixed ASAP.

I'm not understanding why dealers are replacing the entire piece of trim rather than just reattaching. What is a brand new piece of trim going to solve that new clips/adhesive tape will not?

What do the clips actually look like? I am used to these being used:

Heya guys. I'm also dealing with the awesome flare popping out from the top issue on my '15 SRT. Has anyone had enough and removed the flares altogether? Was wondering if anyone could share some photos. I searched the threads and have not come up with any hits so far.

Thanks.

If you remove them you will have an indent where the base model flares set and holes for the clips.
Adding new 3m tape is easy if youre out of warranty

Ive never had the problem...but i helped a friend in his summit. Its 3m double sided with the red backing. You can get it on ebay or at auto parts stores. Be sure to remove all adhesive and clean both surfaces very well with alcohol. Let dry and then add the tape applying lits of pressure. Tape down molding with low tack painters tape and heat it up with a hair dryer and let set over night. Do not drive in the rain or do it outdoors. Tape must be heated and stay dry to set properly. If u can park in the sun after setting all night..that is good too. Do it in a warm day or in a heated garage.

Literally every flare on my 2014 Summit was re-attached at least twice, only to eventually be completely replaced with new ones.

On my 2014 SRT, too, every flare was redone twice, with each having been replaced with new flares on the second replacement.

NO ONE should be doing these themselves! Take it back to the dealer and have them do it- there have been design changes since the initial design, typically the reason why all four (actually six, there there are two portions per side in the rear) are completely replaced with new flares.

Sadly my front flares, and one rear flare on the passenger side where coming off. The dealer made it worse. After they took of four of them (Yes, only three were bad!), they couldn't match the correct paint. And one of the flares is still peeling. Been in the shop two weeks now. Apparently there's a paint formula problem for my model 2017 JGC Summit paint code PRV. Had to be escalated to Chrysler. Hoping they get it together soon!

Yup , 2012 an both front at the front are doing it an rear passenger is. Not bad but can use some love.
I see alot of people say this. It is only double sided tape an when exposed to the elements wears. When i take mine completely off an clean i will apply new tape [will search for best 1 ] and maybe some silicone as well.

the double sided tape they use is a fail , might as well just goto your local hardware or car parts store and purchase some new 3m double sided tape and pull apart the section that is detaching and 3m tape it then push firm on the flair and put some blue autobody style tape to hold it in place for a day

My 18’ HA’s front drivers flare has been coming up at the edge almost since purchase a little over 3 months ago. It’s been on my mind but avoiding the dealership until the first oil change since it doesn’t seem to be getting worse. Turned 6400 miles today so not too far off.

Well mine is a 14 with 72K miles and currently in the shop to repaint the hood for the bubbling at the very edge. when dropping it off I asked the Stealer about the flare issue, they told me "that's cosmetics which is not covered"!!!!
so I guess the 100k 5yr warranty doesn't cover that, huh

FYI I bought it used form a Chevy dealer
