Re: Fender flares coming unstuck anyone?

Just noticed today my drivers side fender flare on my Summit has started to pull away from the body - anyone have a quick fix, trying to avoid going to the dealer as it is only an inch that has separated.

Heat it up with a hairdryer and press and hold it down till it cools. You could also put some blue painters tape on it overnight.

Re: Fender flares coming unstuck anyone?

I've been fixing mine as they come up or undone. Some seam sealer a couple clamps / tape and the next day good as new. I'd rather do this then have the dealer messing around with 2 sided sticky tape.

But thats the problem. These fender flares have been in use now for 3 years and yet still some are coming loose. Ridiculous. Chrysler really could not care less.

Unfortunately, I've got to agree. It seems Chrysler/Jeep has tried to set set up a minimum cost parts & service process (e.g. nickel-&-diming warranty work and reduced replacement parts' inventories) at the expense of its customers. It's all about the money. If it wasn't for the great relationship with my dealership, I'd have bailed from Chrysler vehicles long ago.

Re: Fender flares coming unstuck anyone?

Not that this thread needs more confirmation but new 2015 with 150 kms, passenger flare coming off like others. Ordered a new one, got it painted and installed. Then ran my fingers along the edge and it was uneven, bumpy - like WTF!
Having them either re-attach the old one or order and properly paint a new one. First NA vehicle and already had 2 quality control issues - other was a loose bolt eventually found under the gear compartment I believe.
