Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

So, I bought a 2012 (brand new leftover), in July of this year. To this date it has had about 10 things which needed to be fixed. All of the usual suspects: Carbon Fiber, Rear Shock rattle, Front Bumper coming loose by both headlights, and wheel moldings (yes, plural) and so on...

It has been to the dealership three times for said issues, which in Germany it is Fiat. They fixed everything but the Front Bumper on one side, and the Passenger Wheel Molding behind the rear door.

I am wondering if the Front Bumper still not being fixed is something large enough for a dealership to perform a "buy-back" under lemon law.

I bought it through AAFES, and they do have this clause, but I am wondering if I should pursue it if this next "fix" for the bumper does not fix the issue? If not, what should I do?

By the way, I have had all of the official fixes performed by them, and the bumper and wheel molding have yet to be in good condition...

Chance of lemon law or buy back on the bumper/wheel molding issue many with 2012's seem to have, is nil.

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

I would call the SRT hotline on Jeep customer care and voice your concerns. I've personally dealt with the latter and was pleased. I'm curious as to how many guys have had that issue with the wheel moulding in the same damn spot! I was going to price that piece out but I'm worried it will be outrageous. Cosmetic flaws won't get a buyback. Maybe 5 years ago though.

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

I hope they got the wheel thing right. They said they are awaiting a call from Fiat Corp. to see if they can get a new bumper or not... It is right in the Lemon Law clause though "item which are comsetically damaging to the vehicle's value". I think the bumper falls in there. Either way I hope they get it right, I would love to keep it, but if not 2014 here I come... Thanks for the replies, I should have updates next-weekish.

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

They ordered me a new bumper and will replace it when it comes in. I hope it fixes everything.

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

I just got my 2012 SRT8 bought back under California Lemon Law. In the first 11 months of ownership, it was in service for about 50 days, including 5 attempts at fixing the front bumper, 3 for driver's seat ventilator, 3 for leather dash pad, 3 for console molding, the list goes on. The picture was taken after the last repair attempt. I miss the exhaust note but I'm happy to be back in an X5. Keep copies of all repair orders and contact a lawyer. Good luck!

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

I have the "good" bumper coming loose problem under the passenger headlight. We will see when this bumper comes in... That one answer was enough for me. If the new bumper doesn't fix it, I am done with this one.

Wow this isn't encouraging, I noticed that my drivers rear molding was coming loose, noticed a gap at the 12 o'clock position getting out of my truck this weekend....

Re: Front Bumper and Wheel Moldings coming loose, Lemon Law?

They are installing it now, along with the seat covers because aafes left the sunroof open and rain got all over the seats. I am glad that the overall vehicle is a blast to drive with every feature I would ever need, otherwise I would fight way harder for a buyback. It should be with them until Saturday. Good news? I give them a Jeep SRT and get to drive a fiat 500 ...
