Thanks for the prompt reply Scott. I didn't think so as the auto dimming should be relayed to a photocell issue or software, but thought I would ask. I did just go check Connells instructions on Google and saw there was something going on w/ March on builds (?) But shouldn't affect me...

headlight problem....led lights on bumper

Hi guys, mine just started to have a different problem with csl harshness now it only turn on the driver side (export). So I quickly removed it and all back to stock no problem. Then I thought a lose wire but all seems fine and doing the same thing. It powering the driver side light(export). It's been working perfectly until today on lunch time. Could the relay be overheating? On auto, off, parking light showing one one headlight on no drl. But switching the headlight on seems to be turning on the headlight and drl no problem. Relay only activates to make the headlight ribbons go dim. If the relay failed both the ribbons would stay on bright. If you feel comfortable slicing open the main black bundle of wires right below the relay, you can separate them to see if the problem still exist. ( maybe a short has developed through the heat shrink used to cover the soldered connections)

If you're not comfortable troubleshooting, I highly recommend removing it and we can work on getting you a replacement.

Whtbox fixed his issue. I'll let him chime in, but it was a short inside the heat shrinked bundle of wires.

Scott did they pull the code again? I'm hoping it just needs the recalibration now. Also one of the Australian guys who was letting his sparky poke around last year messed some sensor up. Hopefully the headlight replacement was the right place to look.

Well as cls suggested, my problem was somewhere a shorted wire, not sure how it happened. Therefore, I split the wire up ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1425127501.201617.jpg.

After this the drl start to come alive again as it should be. So I electrical tape it individually to prevent it from shorting each other out again. Will see how it goes if it'll do it again or not.

But this issue didn't damage any of my headlights and it perform as stock when I removed it completely. Also mine is the 2015 with the drl wire missing.

Re: headlight problem....led lights on bumper

I haven't had it back in yet! Im gonna call and ask them about a reprogram. BUT...I still notice m LED bumper lights going out at times. Only when I get the "service adaptive headlamps"....but not all the time. Its frustrating. I did notice the DRL fuse is loose in its spot. I would guess that is from the tap that was used. I replaced the fuse. Lets see if that helps.

Gotcha, I'm definitely here to help troubleshoot. And I'm sure the more eyes on it the better.

Had the reprogram done....it was a no go. Still got the "service adaptive headlamps"

The tech that usually works on my jeep.was out today...his father passed away. He is gonna call.me with the codes when he returns. Its definetely in the wiring. I guess im gonna have to spring for that now........ugh.

Folks...use caution when messing with the wiring in these jeeps.

So recalibration was no help. Not good.

You mentioned the adaptive module was what they said was bad... From my recollection of a previous issue with a member who had their "sparky" try to force the harness to work, the adaptive module was not apart of the headlight itself.

I'm not sure they replaced the right thing Scott. I'm interested to hear what the codes are they pull this time.

Secondly, although you are running out of items to troubleshoot, I think you will be wasting time replacing wiring. I'm no service tech or electrician, but I'm an electrical engineer by education/experience. The small insertion point on the wires should not have that much of an effect on the wires conductivity. If anything the can ensure the wire is not completely severed inside the insulation by soldering in a jumper piece of wire.

Again I'm not sure that the adaptive module is actually part of the headlight. That may be the issue.

I hate to see this happening to your vehicle with so many other kits out there running well. Maybe they aren't all running well... I urge anyone with issues to speak up so we can find a resolution.
