Real weird thing happened today. I was on the highway doing about 65, went to switch lanes and stomped on it and it REALLY hesitated. I think when I hit the gas the tranny was in the process of changing gears and it was a weird timing issue but this was not the first time this happened. I only use shel vpower 93 octane. 2 tanks ago I used STP fuel injector treatment thinking that was the issue. What could be causing this? Thing runs like a champ 99.9% of the time. I would say in 1 month this has happened 5 times.
when your in auto mode the tranny is less prone to down shift, it tries to hold that higher gear. If you keep it in sport mode it will downshift more aggressively. Also if you get a tune either custom or canned, you can control how sensitive the throttle is with the throttle booster and that helps also. I have a custom tune and don't have any issues, Jim a local guy here where I live and a member on here is completely stock and has been having this issue a lot. They just flashed his tcm with a tsb update to try and fix that issue
Preference I guess I never run in sport mode. SRT told Jim to put it in sport mode if you have to go up hills and that sort of thing where you want it to be more sensitive to down shift. You could use the paddle shifters to and just downshift yourself real quick. My honest opinion just get a tune
btw i had the same problem and it was kind of no throttle response.
that is because of the car from the front has the active collision unit
and when it is dirty or it senses that with that amount of throttle it will cause an accident
it gives not throttle response.
I found out this fix was for my limp mode problem not my power lose and since the reflash for the limp mode everything was ok for 1 month and now im taking it in this wed for the reflash that they said they found for the lose of power while just cruising along and this seems to happen between 40/50 mph and mostly on any type of a incline. By the way my limp mode problem hasnt happened in over 1 month.
Took the truck in to the dealer to have them check it out. They ended up decarbing and doing a full fuel injector and intake clean. Car feels worlds better.
