instrument cluster won't turn off

Hi everyone.

I sort of added this issue in my initial greeting post, but figured i would get more looks here. My problem is when shut the vehicle down and exit, the instrument panel lights back up. The screen in the middle is grayed out but will flash the message about pressing the brake and pushing start button. The outer circles will stay illuminated. Ive had the BCM replaced already and the dealership is stumped. Anyone else experience this issue? Its a 2014 SRT. I just got it, and have not enjoyed the new car experience so far.. except memorial day weekend, before the problem occurred. Awesome Jeep and Awesome Forum!!! Thanks everyone!

Re: instrument cluster won't turn off

I just got a call from the dealership and they found out that my wiring harness has been "hacked up"!! something that had to be done prior to me owning it, and the manufactures warranty won't cover it. $3100 to replace it back to OEM! I contacted the dealership I got it from and I'm waiting for a reply, but I feel they sold me a defective vehicle and should foot that bill. The said the vehicle was in "perfect" working order, and it was implied that all components would still be covered under remaining factory warranty. The buyers guide does say that the dealer offers limited warranty but doesn't mention whats covered. Under duration and systems covered section of the buyers guide it states the parameters for the factory warranty. Am I to imply that the dealers warranty is the same? Anyone have any advise as to what my options are if this dealership pushes back on this. I will keep you updated when I hear back.

Since you said you just got it, take it back to where you bought it and make them fix it. They sold you damaged goods they should cover it since you just got it. It's damage not defect and you will likely have better luck from the selling dealer on something like that.
