What I have discovered though is if you unplug the wire connector that is closest to the shock, then put it back together, the message will clear. To do this , do it one at a time and check to see if message goes away.
Good to know. With that being said, have you thought about putting some RTV silicone around those connectors to seal out any moisture if you think that is causing this fault?

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

In my case, take the truck back yesterday to service because the error appeared, connected computer, and marked a failure in the left rear wheel, finally resolved by repairing cables. Greetings.

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

Hello everyone, a 6 month lurker and 1st post...

I have also had this problem on my 14 srt jeep. Not sure which rear shock is acting up but waiting for a part from the dealership. This occurred at 2700 miles.

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

Just for kicks, I would disconnect and reconnect both connectors to each shock (since you don't know which one is throwing the fault) just to see if it is indeed if it's just a bad connection. Personally I would rather do that than have a technician monkey with hardware that potentially doesn't need replacing.

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

I have literally had my 2014 SRT for 22 days and 600 miles on the clock and just got this message last night while driving in a parking garage.

I checked the saved messages section on my dash and it appears to be gone. Jeep seems to ride okay, should I let it go, or bring her into the stealership?

Mike

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

I am waiting for Service center to get back to me, but i have now discovered disconnecting the wire isn't the fix, but when it comes up i turn steering wheel to right and shut down the car completely then restart and everything seems to alright

Now that is just goofy...Please do share what the service folk have to say about it and ends up fixing it.

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

Ok, I have been advised that my left rear shock has arrived as well as the clock spring for the steering wheel. Will get this back to the service department next week and let you know how it goes afterwards.

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

Well, I squirmed under mine the other day to take a look at what was going on, and noticed that the wire on the back driver's side had come loose and made contact with the axle. Thus wearing away the protective sleeve and exposing bare wire. Which I assume caused the warning on my dash...

Took it to the dealer today, and they taped up the wire, and secured it to the others in close vicinity. They also placed an order for a new shock and said it would arrive in about 10 days.

Fingers crossed. Hope it arrives before my deployment.....

Seems to me that Jeep/SRT needs to address this issue from the factory.

Mike

My exact issue. In hoping for a quick fix for you! BTW once fixed, my service department zip tied the wires on all for shocks so I don't have to rely in the wire clips alone to hold the wire...

Re: Message: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

CLStech,

Exactly what I will be asking my dealer to do as well. If by chance they don't, well, then you can be assured I'll be squirming back under to do it myself.

4 week old $65k vehicle shouldn't be giving me these problems. At least in my opinion.

Mike
