Hi everybody,

Yesterday I get this first message in the main screen: Service Adaptive Damping Suspension System

Now, the suspension remain in the "Firm" all the time, not matter which terrain is selected.

I will send the truck to the dealer service next week, any advice?

Unfortunately this was an issue with my right rear shock. The clip that holds the sensor wires released the wire allowing it to rub against the axle. After my dealer found the issue they ordered the replacement shock but it is backordered... I'm at 1 week of waiting so far. Tom has actually been waiting over 3 months...

Here are some pics below.

No problem hopefully your resolution is better.

I had the same thing happen to me. Same message and the jeep is stiff as a board. I took it to the dealership Jan 20th. They replaced the control module for something and that didn't fix it. Next on the flow chart is replace the shock. Just like you said, backordered. They said the part would be in feb 7th and then on feb 7th they said now it's feb 20th. Nothing like buying a nice new jeep just to let sit in a parking lot for over a month. Why do I get the feeling the part won't be there on the 20th. What will really tick me off is if they change that part and realize it was something else! Oh well, not much I can do I guess.

@peoria you seem to be in a tougher spot since they seem to be diagnosing your problem... Luckily I can physically see the damage on the cable.

At this point I think they should take the needed parts straight off the assembly line.

Now, the news for me is the message (the problem) came and go... some time I start the engine and the suspension is working well until a few of kilometers and return the message and the suspension set in FIRM, and some times it is from the engines start, and some times is work well between all my short trip.
Next Thursday I has booked service in my local dealer, will see...

Is it just electrical wires in that tube? Is there a way to delicately repair the wires for a temp fix? I wonder how many other people have the same problem for there to be such a big shortage. Did you say Tom has been waiting 3 months???

Also, what is the led interior swap and did you change your headlights CLStech? I was just looking at the description at the bottom of your post.

I was thinking of repairing the wires But I'm going to hold off for now as to try to let the warranty repair process go through. If not fixed come March I'll try to repair the wires. Possibly. And still let them replace it when the part is available.

Yes, Tom as been waiting for rear shocks for quite some time.

Led interior swap consist of changing out all the incandescent interior bulbs with LEDs. This provides a brighter whiter light from the dome, grab handle, interior tailgate, and foot well lighting. I did also change my headlights from the stock 4650K color temperature to 6000K bulbs. My fogs are replaced with yellow 3000k.

Hi guys, I have just picked up my car a few days ago and this comes up on every start. It has only done 300km's. it feels fine though but it has always been there. I can't believe I have bought a brand new car for this money and this happens. I am in Sydney. When I go to the message screen it is not there but. Is the same with you guys?

It's electrical in the shock for that message to come up and for the settings to go firm. The shock needs replaced. I think it has to do with how the vehicles are being prepared for shipment and tied down. It could also be an improperly installed clip on the wire harness like CLStech experienced above.

My ride feels like it's constant full firm suspension. Maybe even harsher than track mode.

#16 ·
Message appears about 10-15 second after engine start. You hear the chime. The message is in the vehicle messages in the EVIC but not as a engine code...

#17 ·
There is no message in the message section of my EVIC. But it is there after start up for about 5 seconds. I dont remember a chime but I will tkae more notice next time. I am going to go for a drive and check the different ride firmness on auto, sport and track to see if there is a difference or not.

#18 ·
if your getting that message then you cannot use the select track controls. FIRM is the default when you get that code. Probably like CLSTech says....firmer than stock track mode.

Just got back from a drive. The warning is there on start up and is only on for 5 seconds. It is also now in my messages in the EVIC for the first time. I can however shift through Auto, Sport and Track and the suspension characteristics change accordingly. It is raining at the moment but when it stops I will have a look at the wiring.

The other thing is that the ESC light is constantly on in the EVIC. If I turn ESC off manually via the button they both show up in the EVIV, on and off.

#20 ·
Are you sure the suspension characteristics changed accordingly. Mine will allow the modes to change but the suspension firmness never changes. The dash says I'm in whatever selected mode and changes the shift pattern and torque splits just fine ( I'm sure of it since I had to use snow mode) but my suspension indeed never changes from full firm.

Honestly this is hard to answer.
Maybe the suspension is not changing as it is hard to really tell the difference when I switch between them all. The transmission differences is obvious but the suspension is not in my opinion.

In saying this though there is no way that the suspension feels overly firm. To try and put this in perspective the car before this that I had is a Ford XR6 Turbo ( equivalent in drive to your Mustang). This has sports suspension and is running 19's with 265/35/19's and the ride in this is much harder than the SRT.

Does this make sense?

So if you guys are saying that the change in the ride and feel of the suspension is as obvious as the transmission differences between Auto, Sport and Track then there is now way the suspension is changing in my truck cause if it is it is extremely subtle.

OK, it has stop raining, below is the result from the investigation;

Both fronts look OK and are all cliped in properly
Back Right is OK also, see photo

Back left however looks like this.

It does not look like it is damaged in any way but it was not in it's clip. Maybe this is the issue as already posted. I tried to put it back in and eventually did but it is so tight on the bottom wire that it will more than likely come out again . Notice the bottom part of the cable and how tight it is in the photo below. It is not really clipped in properly cause you can't stretch it anymore.

What now if this is the issue. Do I have to reboot anything or wait for the dealer to have a look?

Edit: Sorry the photos are so big.

Maybe test you suspension differences traveling over a speed bump. You should feel the difference.

#25 ·
Sorry, I responded before you posted the pictures. The wire that was unclipped like yours actually had damage to the wire from rubbing on the axle. It doesn't look like you have any visual damage but the wire could be damaged in some other way. Maybe how it is stretched...

I would have the dealer connect to see the readings from the system. From my dealers diagnostic they seem to be able to read proper/improper readings from each shock with values within a range. There is no reason you should continuously get that message. Take it in.

Am I the only one who had their car lowered in this thread? If so it makes me feel better it was not my lowering springs.

And yes to clarify- it has been over 4 months that I waited for shocks. I got them into my dealer on Friday and they go in on Wednesday. Don't allow them to tell you they are on back order. I waited 2.5 months before taking more action. Call SRT and open a case with them and call every day til your shocks are delivered. You can't tell me they are back ordered for 4 months when you are putting out new SRTs everyday for that 4 months. I believe they are getting more and more shocks in as of last week so hopefully you don't get screwed like I did.

#28 ·
Also for the record on how mine feels driving. Both rear shocks are blown. Riding a horse consecutively for the last 4 months would have been more comfortable lol my friends who sit in the back seat would agree with me as well. Absolutely terrible lol.

That's good. The first 2-3 weeks my alert message was on my car felt completely normal and acted the exact same. But after a road trip the rear shocks blew out and since then for 3 months it drove absolutely terribly in the rear just bouncing down the street. Get it checked out quickly to make sure it's not something they can fix before it gets worse. They swapped out my control module in the rear first too and that didn't work so they ordered a shock then 2 weeks later the shock blew. And got worse from there.
