Poor Finish on Spyder Monkey - Dealer warranty?

I have taken issue with the poor QA/QC for these vehicles. In particular, I took my SRT in to have them comment on the poor spray on the wheels. All the small holes did not get coverage. I dont mind the inside being missing spray, but the pics showed better issue from inside. Anyone else had this issue? Best part is my 5 yr old knocked on over and left 4 nice scratches. Lovely. Really hope they stand by their product here. If not, how / where do you PVD coat? Thanks in advance all.

Great. Now I've compounded the issue by scratching one while taking them off to take pics. Assume they will not fix. PVD looks like an option...

Yeah mine are like that as well, the face of them is fine, but my small holes are exactly like that, not very good quality control that's for sure.

1 or 2 of mine had a run in the coating...that's a quality issue IMHO. I don't see the reason for that little hole to be coated iMO

I suppose, I always just notice the lack of finish in them when I'm cleaning the wheels. The finish on the outside of mine is okay, I've gotten into the habit of waxing them about once a month, for some reason that finish doesn't seem like it's going to hold up great long term, but as of now mine look brand new however the car is only 3 months old lol.

I said this from the beginning the coating sucks BIG TIME! I can also scratch them with my nail if I want to.

Mine look like crap also. Pathetic. If I knew they were this bad I would have never ever gotten the "black chrome".

I got to disagree Scott, this has every thing to do with quality control. You just don't let rims like this leave your facility after they are inspected the last time.

out of spec is bad quality control and obviously all these are in spec. Maybe there is a reason they aren't coated? Wonder if the carbon silver wheels are coated? I cant remember....

I'm guessing it's just that their specs are horrible I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be coated unless they just figured most people don't obsessively clean their wheels and those holes are going to be pitted as all hell at some point anyway and the coating would get eaten off. That's my only logic, or it just cost too much to get the little sprayer in there to coat them and they figured nobody would ever notice.

I will readily admit that I could be considered being rather particular here, but given this is their pinnacle car, they should have better reign over the QA/QC - the panel fit tolerances are way off and quality of the coating on the wheels are just a few items that fall under this banner. Yes it is a lot less expensive than some competitors but it is still a $74,000 Jeep that helps them sell the other cars. Look what the Koreans have done in getting their cars to near-German fit/finish. I still standby my opinion that while minor in some eyes, truly a shameful effort on Jeeps part that should not have gone into production this way. The reason my SRT is in the shop for the 2nd time in the 4 weeks I have owned it is the paint on the hood has circle marks under the clear coat. Again lack of QA/QC (note- my 2014 Summit had it too, just a lot worse). Dealer has been responsive - replacing faulty window trim (3 windows), USB/SD/Bluetooth media center dead, steering wheel bottom has cracked, recall (brake booster) and a few other nuisance items but I am going to be dismayed should they assert that this passes their sniff test.

In sum, there are two stories to be told from this point: either how Jeep values a loyal client bases (SRT) and vows to emerge from the next-to-bottom rankings of Customer Satisfaction by doing what should be done or when the next joe/dick/harry invariable asks about this sweet car, they will receive a vote of no confidence and a few expletives thrown in to underscore the reason why I will not buy another Jeep. A fun car - but deplorable QA/QC, 11 MPG, and $20k over next highest model is not adding up in my book...

Rant over. I must say I have had a blast absorbing all the info in this forum (thanks to all of you who contribute, esp Scottina06) and making numerous mods already, but I might wait on that GT Haus exhaust to see if I can live with some of the items discussed (assuming nothing will be done)...
