Re: Popping sound and click on drivers backrest SRT 15
I had this in my '14 GC Limited; I'm sure the SRT seats are identical. I removed the back trim cover to the seat and inspected everything in there. When you adjust the tension on the lumbar setting, a small plastic roller simply presses on a large piece of plastic to increase the lumbar pressure you feel when seated. It appears that when the lumbar setting is low (i.e.; little pressure) there is slack between the plastic roller and the large piece of plastic it's otherwise in contact with - so that when you first sit down, or take off, your body takes up the slack and slams the plastic roller into the large piece of plastic, which you feel through the seat. I solved the issue by simply leaving the lumbar on maximum pressure setting, thus taking up all the slack in the mechanism. I doubt the dealership can "fix" anything in there, but I'm sure they could break a few things getting to it just to tell you it's "operating as designed".
