Any other thoughts on the vehicle? Glad to hear there were no issues.

Comment From Brandon Averill
What oil and viscosity do you recommend for the 6.1L SRT Jeep?

SRT Engineer 7:
Pennzoil Ultra Synthetic 5w-40

Thank you Milous, I stand corrected, but since the programming has already been done for the SRTs that are being released, I still don't see what the huge delay is in reprogramming existing ones. Unrelated to this today I saw a black WK1 SRT JGC in the Home Depot Lot and I've got to say it was impressive. I hope I feel the same about my WK2 if/when it arrives.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

FWIW, I now have over 625 miles on mine and can't detect any mechanical problems at all. I purposely turned almost full lock in both directions in an empty parking lot in Sport, Auto, and Snow mode and did not feel or hear anything wrong.

I spent part of yesterday and today driving agressively around corners and did not notice any mechanical problems.

As a side note, my oil filler cap has 0-40W synthetic written on it.

I'm just reporting my info for reference, not stirring the pot. Thanks!

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

Glad a few guys seem OK here, but there are enough first releases with TC issues, along with the shipment delays, that IMO either Ralph Giles or the SRT engineers need to weigh in on this. A punt to later replacement or TSB will not work as well as an upfront, transparent mea culpa and proactive solution. Again, Jeep raised their own bar here and need to stand up to it. Just MO.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

I'll get a thread up with pictures and a review soon. I have about 400 miles on this beast now and I am very happy with it!

Did anyone else who was having the transfer case issue try driving a few slow tight circles in each direction? That solved my problem and it has not come back at all. I have also tested the Selec-Trac and that is working fine.

+1, nice to hear it IUN, please post separate photo thread of your rig.

I would still like to know the tecnical cause, solution, and long-term outlook for the TC issue. Do running tight circles get the solenoids and other electronics synched properly from front to rear drivetrain? Does it "loosen" otherwise tight tolerances in the gearing? Is this something to monitor for TC metal shavings?

It is in getting the windows tinted right now. Possibly getting VentureShield applied tommorrow (Clearbra). I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can.
