Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

i do have one issue with the truck which i noticed this morning. i had not used the paddle shifters and they are not working. i have been in touch with jeep, srtdrive and 2 dealerships. the people over at srtdrive have been awesome so has jeep. looks like the paddle shifters are not connected to the car. i was told its a quick fix but i have to bring the jeep in and they have to contact "STAR" the engineer program to confirm. ill keep you posted as to the solution. otherwise everything is A++++++!

Do you have to have the shifter in a certain location for them to work?

Seems like something QC would check before it left.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

transfer case issues solved (supposedly). Contaminated fluid. Changed fluid and all is well.

Now the question, how and why were these sent out like this?

Really? If so, that's far from the real or perceived concern that it might have been. Feels like a win.

That said, totally agree with your last question, why wasn't something so obvious not caught in a simple QC test run?

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

I'm sure it's because the rest of the QC process was soooo extensive and thorough that the workers were so tired that they just happened to miss that minor detail...

Now I wonder if we'll see the ones in storage get shipped out? I sure hope so! A co-worker got a new car (not a Jeep) and I'm a bit jealous and of course got the smart-ass jabs about me having ordered months ago...

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

I'm going to admit, got this info from the red site since that is where the members are with the problems. One guy said his service adviser told him "Chrysler said they were aware of it"....yes, I know what you are already thinking.

The two guys said the fluid was changed and they don't notice the issue now. A knowledgeable guy on TCs (because of his trials and tribulations with his WKs TC) finds it hard to believe that was the simple fix even though the symptoms are gone. Guess we will see.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

So out of the 5 or 6 Jeeps that we've heard about on the forums, only one has no issues?
So far it's been Radio Buttons missing behind the Wheel, 2 with transfer case issues (Fluid change fixed?) One with paddle shifters not working.
This is starting out like the Red Sox season last year. Hope it doesn't end like it.
Snap to it Jeep.

And Moosehead....That avatar was not an upgrade like we talked about!

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

I would like to believe the contaminated transfer case fluid is the real culprit. Though it appears Chryco got there via the Magellan troubleshooting route, first via complete TC replacement (kingmonkey), second via driving slowly in tight circles, then this fluid fix. Evidently there have been prior challenges with prior Tc versions as well?

As stated earler, it would be helpful to both Jeep and their customers to clear this up, so we can get back to bickering over colors, price negotations, and 1/4 mile times.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

kingmonkey never had the TC swapped, just the fluid change. Same with the other guy. No owrd on the vehicle in FL reported by the person here who stopped into the dealer just to look at the new Jeep.

Lots of problems with the WK SRT8s transfer case, NV146. The WK2 has a different model, MP3010, but it seems ChryCo still is having trouble with the TC on SRT8s.

Re: Potential first problems with New SRT8s...

another female member in NE picked hers up the 20th, it's making the noises. She called today after learning online what it is and the dealership said their 2 other sold units have it as well.
