Service Shifter / Adaptive Headlight System

I was cruising along at about 75 today in the rain and all of a sudden, there was a surge/jerking motion and my headunit went blank and restarted. I had two warnings come up...Service Shifter and Service Adaptive Headlight System. The Jeep continued to drive fine and when I got to work, I shut it off and restarted and the service messages were no longer visible.

Has anyone had anything like this happen...it didn't give me a very good feeling! I had noticed a faint electrical smell for a minute or two earlier this week, but couldn't pinpoint what it was from, so not sure if that is related or not. Everything appears to function as normal and I only have 5,000 miles on it. I'm afraid if I take it in, they won't be able to pull any codes or repeat the issue...

Re: Service Shifter / Adaptive Headlight System

I've got a '14 with 24k on it and mine did the exact same thing the other day, but I never had any electrical smell and I was in dry conditions. Messages were: service shifter, and service adaptive headlamp system. Same blank screen, etc. No problems since and messages gone after restart. Any updates on this?
