Angry Small Crash - New Bumper??

I mistakenly pull forward into a large log which I was parked against, and messed up my bumper and front rader sensor.
The only noticable damage is that the mesh portion of the lower grill is push in slightly on the right side. Although it does looks like it can be clipped back to the main portion.
That and a small indent can be seen in the middle on the lower lip below the sensor.

I am coming to you guys for help/advice.
Roughly how much do you guys think it will be to get a replacement bumper, and more importantly get a replacement sensor installed.
I found a primed bumper for $1200.00 but I was un-able to find the sensor.

Or do you think I would be better off getting a replacement sensor and installing that, then try and get the bumper clipped back together and live with the small dent?

Re: Small Crash - New Bumper??

$1200 seems kinda high if it's just a superficial ding in the plastic cover.

Quick search on Google and there aren't any parts near that price range:
BUMPER COVER for 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee|68214172AA

Tossing some paint on that will run up the price a bit and the sensors aren't cheap in themselves, but if it's just the plastic bumper piece, $1200 is robbery.

Quick list of all the parts in the front:

Re: Small Crash - New Bumper??

If you are talking about a small dent in the rubber bumper cover, it should be repairable. Aside from a little heat sometimes encouraging these parts to return to the original shape ... to a degree, 3M has been making excellent repair material for these things, for decades. Check a local body shop.

Re: Small Crash - New Bumper??

Im thinking the small indent on the middle of the lower lip may be repairable, and like I said im fairly certain the lower mesh part where the chrome is can be clipped back on.

I am more concerned about fixing the Foward Collision Radar Sensor, it was either broken or disconnected when I tapped the stump.
Knowing my luck I will need a new one, does anyone know where I can get that?

Google it or call the jeep dealership and ask for the part number. They will give it to you than you can google it and find an online dealer that will sell it for half of that the dealership will want for it! All kidding aside, the dealership will rob you.

The link I gave you above also had the sensors listed and linked in it, if I do recall. Cam grab the part # from there and shop it around the Internet.

Re: Small Crash - New Bumper??

The ACC sensor was $4500 in Australia when the dealer stuffed mine and it needed to be replaced. They also needed a special tool to align it. If it visually looks ok, you may have a chance to get it replaced under warranty.

I think what I will do is take it some where, and see if they can get the bumper repaired. And if they can, and once the bumper is off inspect the sensor to determine if it looks damaged. If it doesnt I will take it to the dealer to see if they can fix it.
