Re: Squeeky brakes?

Im in the same boat. Called 1 dealer, said I need to pay for it at $750 installed. Waiting for another dealer to call me back but the rotors are $269 each.

SRT put me on hold for 20 minutes and said not covered even though Im under 12k miles.

Apparently theres a dealer in Colorado that has done several of these are SRTs with more than 12k miles.

The TSB does not mention 12k so I do not see why that would apply. Have they been squeaking since the initial purchase? That would be my argument then was why did this not get completed when the problem existed upon time of sale...and after your research you find out there has ben a TSB for 6+ months (iirc)

Good info to know...thanks!

Wow that's rough if the dealers are giving some of you a hard time. The dealer I get mine serviced is not where I purchased it used with 4k miles (rotors replaced @ 13,500 miles 9/2015,17,3XX now; bought 12/2014). From my understanding, if you are having the issue and there is a TSB, then they will replace in the 3/36k B-2-B timeframe. Either that or I have a great dealer that has earned my business; they already had even if the TSB's are not required. They have performed a significant amount of warranty work and I have been impresed...Crown Dodge/Jeep in Ventura, CA. GL with getting things handled; stay on top of them and hopefully you can persuade!

Re: Squeeky brakes?

The dealers don't make much money from warranty work. Although, a call to Jeep stating that you are embarrassed to drive around in a Jeep with squealing brakes may get the job pushed through. Especially when you tell them that the dealer did not believe this to be an issue.

Re: Squeeky brakes?

Finally spoke with a service manager at another dealer and she is saying brakes are under the 3/36 warranty so it will be covered. Taking it in this week and will make sure it is before they touch it

Re: Squeeky brakes?

I am having mine done today....the dealer (which I did not buy from) agreed to replace the rotors under warranty and suggested I do the pads at the same time for $100 and I will. My vehicle was purchased in April 2013 but I have only 22k on the clock. I was surprised at their decision as I was only trying this as a long shot with no expectations. Never hurts to ask

Re: Squeeky brakes?

7 flashes, 1 recall performed, sunroof rattle TSB, and 2 slotted rotors ordered yesterday.....

Took back in today to get the rotors installed. Not what I was expecting when I heard slotted haha but they don't squeal yet

What did you have to say to get them to agree? Mine was bought Sept 2013 but I only have 11k miles. Hopefully my pads are fine.

Any tips would be appreciated as Im heading in tomorrow morning

Which?
As far as the recall, it was about the UConnect hack thing.

As far as the flashes, I've heard that there are 7 computers, so 7 flashes I would assume they rewrote my whole vehicle haha

Re: Squeeky brakes?

My service advisor mentioned that typically the brakes were only covered under the 12/12 period and I replied that it was hard to make that time frame since the tsb came out 2 years after my purchase...and I also offered upfront to pay for having the pads installed (which I would recommend you do) and she said that might help.

You probably got the news trans update. It should shift quite differently. Harsh 1-2 shift and a laggy 4-5.

I haven't noticed harsh shifting or laggy shifting yet. I did have a clunk in 1 - 2 and 2 - 3. When it downshifted anyway, but it's gone now since the flashes
