Do not trust your insurance company to handle this in your best interest, especially if the other driver is uninsured which is very likely at this point. There is a good chance you will need to go after her yourself especially when it comes to medical bills.
There's an old saying... "You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip."
In other words, if they have nothing you're likely to get nothing out of them.
That's why having uninsured motorist coverage is important. And even then you'll likely never be made whole on your loss.
And the uninsured motorist will continue driving...
