SRT Oil Filter

After changing my oil and filter I would cut the filter open to see how it's built first was the OEM filter that it came with new (04884899AB) (left in the picture. Then I used the K&N (HP-2010) and it seemed to have very similar construction compared to the OEM filter. Finally I opened up the SRT (05038041AA) filter and the first thing I noticed is how thick the Can or case is! Also it seems to have more filter area and pleats than both the OEM and the K&N also it uses a coil type bypass spring! Lastly, looking down into the filter the SRT filter uses like lover type holes (see picture) I have to say I'm really impressed with the quality! If I remember I think I only paid like $10 at the dealer!

Re: SRT Oil Filter

Also, I wanted to mention that the SRT(05038041AA) filter comes with a plastic lid over the open end and its sealed in a plastic bag inside the box! I like how they even go the extra mile packaging it up too. In the past I've bought oil filters with all kinds of debris floating in them. Actually I've been cutting open many different brands of filters over the years and honestly this SRT filter appears to be the highest quality filters I've ever opened.

Re: SRT Oil Filter

So even though the SRT filter is listed for the Viper, it will still be compatible with the GC SRT?

Just want to be sure before I place an order.

They do make an SRT filter for the Viper but it has a different part number!
The SRT filter part number ( 05038041AA ) will fit your GC if you have a 5.7 or a 6.4 engine. For more information:

? Viper p/n is 05038041AA, same as what fits the 2008-up 4.7L, 5.7L, 6.1L and 6.4L.
