Stop shaking damit!

Alright so my 14 Srt wont stop shaking. Dealer hasn't been helpful, 4 tire rotations and rebalancing, full blown inspections of every tire has come up empty, nothing yet. Got 22" factory reproductions from Blackopsautoworks with 305/35s and sitting on eibachs. My jeep has been shaking for 10k miles now and I'm really tired of it. I have 1k left on factory warranty and really need to figure this out. Anybody else deal with their steering wheel shaking? Btw it's at 45mph and up. Thanks.

Re: Stop shaking damit!

Not sure if you have seen this or if it applies to SRT but just a thought. I know you said 45 mph and this states 65. http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2200314a.pdf

Re: Stop shaking damit!

With the aftermarket wheels/tires, I'm suprised the dealer is willing to help at all .

TSB states in part 1d. "Check that the vehicle is equipped with original wheels and tires specified by the vehicle sales code."

What did your tire dealer say?

Keep in mind that the larger wheels will magnafy any drive line issues. So while the tsb States 65 on the factory wheels, you could be seeing the issue at 45 because of the wheels

Does it shake with factory wheels installed?

I mention this as I've had after market wheels from a major supplier and those damn things never ran smooth. Turns out they were "centered" on the wheel studs, not the hub like the OE wheels.

Re: Stop shaking damit!

Yeah it shook with the 20s and the dealer blamed the run flats being worn. Switched to 22s and still shakes. Dealer and I don't have a great relationship so who knows if they'll even look into it.

Re: Stop shaking damit!

Been dealing with same issue with my '14 SRT as well, it started at around 20k miles, slight vibration felt thru steering wheel, factory spider monkeys, replaced run flats, alignment, rotation, checked rotors etc and still the same, dealer couldn't figure out what the problem is either.
8/13 build date
Vibration starts at 60+ mph

Re: Stop shaking damit!

On other vehicles in the past, I have had a drive shaft out of balance feel like a bad tire. Only happened at higher speeds. However, you feel it in the seat, not the steering wheel.

Re: Stop shaking damit!

Has anyone found a satisfactory solution to this? I'm experiencing the same vibration, 20,000 mile, 2014 SRT. Had 4 brand new Pirelli Scorpions installed, road forced balanced twice at two different shops. New OEM front rotors and pads. Per TSB, front wheel bearings replaced, a brand new set of 4 Pirelli Scorpions then replaced the first set, road forced balanced again and still vibrates between 64 and 85ish. There has to be a reason...

Thank you

Re: Stop shaking damit!

Man I just had my jeep in to the third dealership for this and still nothing. They said my vehicle didn't qualify for the Tsb but it was just a wheel out of balance. Well maybe 9th balance will be the charm. Nope. I did however get my 2nd broken fuel door replaced, so small win.

2nd fuel door, great so that may become a reoccurring item. I had my first replaced few weeks ago. I guess that's what you get for a plastic hinge mechanism.

concerning the shaking, I have been through the mill on that also. all I can say is make sure they are taking the time to do a good road force job on it and doing the force match and not skipping that part. make sure road force numbers are all 12 or below. check the rims for even the smallest bends in them. I have been through two rims already for mild bends that wouldnt balance. good luck
