Re: System does not turns off when I turn the Car off, battery drains?

I have the same problem, but I just resets the Uconnect when it occurs. Just press MUTE and TUNE at the same time for 5 secunds, and it will shut down.

USA vehicles radios have a built-in sierra module to support ASSIST/911 emergency communication feature (not available in canada).

they both use the same mirror but the canadian one has no buttons.
on start-up, the mirror module attempts to communicate with the sierra module which isn't responding (because it's not equipped). it should stop after a few attempts. however, intermittantly it does not stop and this keeps the radio and communication bus awake after key off.
i have been working with tech support and service engineering on this very issue. yesterday, they shipped me a modified mirror that is supposed to cure this issue.

whenever the customer comes back (not sure when), i'll be replacing his mirror and re-test. i'll post test results in this thread.

Just a quick question. Is your foot on the brake when you depress the ignition start button to turn the truck off ?
The reason I ask my father n law had the same issue with his new Q56. It was later discovered he would place the truck in park, take his foot off the break Then depress the ignition button. This would place his truck in ACC mode. Draining his battery...... Possible?

The ignition is definitely at the off position when this happens...

Keep it posted when the mirror is changed...

I'm pretty sure the acc mode is turned off when the door is opened. Ok that's a negative but you do get the ding ding ding letting you know it's in ACC. My bet is on the mirror

That's great news, thanks for sharing as I was curious to hear how people were progressing in finding the solution to this problem.

Re: System does not turns off when I turn the Car off, battery drains?

from online database:

Case Number: S1408000045
Release Date: 01/31/2014
Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Battery Drains, No Start
Discussion:
An incident report indicates the radio or cluster remains illuminated after the vehicle is shut off and the door is opened. The condition as described may be caused by the interior mirrors communication protocol with the embedded phone within the radio. This communication may continue at times even after the vehicle is shut off; keeping the BUS active and draining the battery. If the above illumination condition is duplicated, unplug the rear view mirror to validate a mirror concern. Radio or Cluster replacements are not a recommended to resolve this mirror induced condition. Updates to the mirror hardware will be available by 2nd quarter 2014.
