Ticking noise in 14 SRT

I have a 14 SRT and it has developed a loud ticking noise coming from the transmission tunnel in the rear passenger area. It seems to happen whenever it wants to. It is most notable when accelerating or decelerating slowly under 20 mph.
Anybody else heard this? I took it to the dealer and of course it didn't make any noise. Thanks for any help in this.

Re: Ticking noise in 14 SRT

its a 2014 jgc srt , i think we are all comming to exspect issues , noises , things falling apart and the worst dealer assistance in history.

I pray jeep come into these forums and take a count of all the issues these models have and do a recal for a good range of this pure lack of quality and pride in workman ship.
i am havin Uconnect issues that the dealer cant even work out , they want it for 2 days to try and fix. I am sorry to bomb your thread mate, im just over all the threads in the srt8 and here forums of mounting issues .
hope you find it, i have a wierd ticking nosie that cuts in now and then but seems to be front right side.

my car often ticks when I'm doing low speeds in the parking lot, but its just ticking, she runs perfect, so I'm not too worried, and I think neither should you

Transmission solenoids. It should only be lightly audible from outside the vehicle though (listening out the window).

Re: Ticking noise in 14 SRT

Uh yeah, those are gears swapping in the transmission from what I could tell. Real easy to trigger ticks in the garage while I have windows down and shift from drive/reverse/park. Also note that while in auto mode the jeeps tend to hold 2nd gear at low speeds but may sometimes switch from 1/2 gears depending on what you're doing and how you've trained it depending on driving habbits, these transmissions tend to learn your driving style a bit.

These clicks are no different from swapping gears in a manual transmission, my other 2 cars do the same thing so I don't think it's a problem. Matter of fact the SRT clicks are quieter and cute in a way for such a big vehicle. If it starts sounding loud or different from a gear swap then it might be an issue.

See if you can replicate this by shifting from park/reverse/drive.

Re: Ticking noise in 14 SRT

no its not that kind of noise for me , have any of you had it on adaptive cruise and let it brake for you ? it makes like this grind noise when braking. well its similar but way less intense and quieter .

A part identifier sticker on a drive shaft that is starting to come off can also make a similar noise at such speeds. Just food for thought.

Re: Ticking noise in 14 SRT

I had the grinding sound once so far on my 2104 SRT when the adaptive brake triggered. It sounded like the ABS working but loud. I thought it was only suppose to push the brake pads closer to the rotors not hard enough to activate the ABS system?
