Re: UConnect issues with SD card and Audio from Bluetooth

Happens to me also. I'd say 1 in 10 times, the SD card will play. I bought a 32GB card, formatted it per the manual. Had the car back twice to the dealer...amazing, it works for them every time. Today I took the car back and said show me how to work it...they couldn't. They blamed my card. I said, "let's put it in the Jeep Cherokee in the showroom...bam...it works! Not the card. The head units in a certain batch of models (mines a 2014 JGC Overland) are defective. It's a $3k fix according to the dealership. I reminded him it was a $48k purchase...fix it. They are checking with "Michigan" on the replacement workflow. Meanwhile, I use Satellite mostly.

But I echo others...this is a pain!

Re: UConnect issues with SD card and Audio from Bluetooth

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited that I've had since the end of August. I noticed this past Saturday that my media center suddenly wasn't recognizing anything - whether it be my iphone 4s plugged in through the usb, connected through bluetooth or the flash drive plugged into the USB. Now my phone is not connecting to the bluetooth and calls to Uconnect Care and Jeep Care were useless - I was told to bring the car in to the dealer. They ALWAYS worked before but Jeep Care told me my phone is not compatible, nor are the files I had on the flash drive. Makes no sense! So glad I found this forum through my google search of the problem because it wasn't anything suggested by either and it's a huge inconvenience to drop off my car to the dealer. Hoping these suggestions work! Thank you!

I would try to reinstall the Uconnect update which you can get from the Uconnect website.

I did 2 things to fix my problem of losing the number of songs on my card. I had all my music in one folder called music. I moved them all to the root of the card. I also locked the card. I did both at the same time so I don't know what actually fixed it. It's working good so far. It's been about a week and all my songs are still being recognized.

Re: UConnect issues with SD card and Audio from Bluetooth

I think locking the card (write protecting) fixes the problem.
My 16Gb car would show 4 copies of the songs, although the PC would only show one.
I formatted the card and reloaded the files, then locked the card and it seems to have fixed the problem.

I noticed the little user card that is attached to the shifter when you buy the car says it must be 16GB or under, but this is not the case.

Make sure the card is formatted to FAT32 and you should not have any problems.
My card currently has more than 40GB of music and podcasts on it.
I am not sure this information is correct. Windows will not format a 64 GB card with FAT32. You have to use a third party program. 64 GB card will need to be formatted as NTFS or exFAT. Can you clarify how you managed to format a 64 GB card with FAT32?

I use OS X, but you're are correct, that comment of mine is not accurate, NTFS is fine too. There is another on the forum with 128GB SD XC card formatted in NTFS working fine.
