Vibration felt at idle?

Well my first week with the srt and I couldn't help but notice, sometimes more than others, when I'm stopped at a red light and the vehicles idling, a mild vibration can be felt up through the seat.

I'm assuming this is normal?

I don't have the other issues mentioned on here such as vibration during acceleration/cruising.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

Does it last more than a second or two? RPMs move at all? AC on? Mine shakes a bit when the compressor kicks off and on

Vibration felt at idle?

With the AC off, it's like a slight shake that goes on for about 1 second for every 3-4 seconds.

I Didn't notice the Rpms drop but will pay attention to that on the drive home.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

Mine does the same and the rpms move between 650 (which seems normal and pleasant) and 950 which is harsh and maintains a vibration. More often than not, my engine idles at 950.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

Mine idles between 650-950 as well, but it vibrates at either range. I'm gonna chalk it up as normal.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

How many miles? Cleaned the air filter or checked the spark plugs lately? I'd also pull the intake pipe and check the throttle plate to make sure its clean

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

It's got 33,000kms on it, so that's approx 20,000 miles. I just dropped in an aem dry flow filter.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

Did it vibrate before the filter install? I have that in mine as well. Mine really vibrates at idle when the AC is on but nice and smooth when its off(14k miles). That filter does flow better so maybe it still needs to adjust to the increase air flow.

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

I Can't remember.... But That could be it, maybe I'll swap the paper filter back just to see if it still does that.

Thanks for the tip!

Re: Vibration felt at idle?

It's normal. It's just like my 00 GTS viper. Rocked and shakes at a light. These big motors shake, rattle and when stomped on...roll!!
