Weird clunk on cold temperature

My ST8 2012 just started doing weird clunks in the morning. It getting cold, and since its around 25F in the morning, the first time I turn (going our of my driveway) and I feel and hear weird clunks that seems to come from the transfer case or the rear diff.. In addition to those clunks, the truck is jerking like if there is somethign trying to prevent me from turning. My dealer dont have a clue of whats going on. (not surprising). Any of you aware of cold weather issue with rear diff or transfer case on 12' SRT8.

Thanks

Re: Weird clunk on cold temperature

Sure it's not the brakes. Some people have had the brakes stick after washing and sitting in the driveway overnight. If it's that, then it's nothing that needs fixing.

Re: Weird clunk on cold temperature

Thanks for the reply. That was my first concern. I did check the brakes and they are well lubricated and moving freely.

I suspected water in the transfer case, tranny and diff. Dealer veryfied them all and everything is fine.

Re: Weird clunk on cold temperature

Thanks Louie. The weird side is that It only do it "once", when its colder than 0C and at very low speed. What it the same for you?

Regards

Re: Weird clunk on cold temperature

Thanks again. I will mention that to my dealer. The thing with those SRT versions (I had a 2010 before this one) is that dealers dont know anything about them. Furthermore, the support they receive from Chrysler is bad. My passion for Hemi's is certainly not about quality or customer service...

Thanks!
