Whats the schedule for changing our diff fluids?

My jeeps in for 48/50k service was informed that the front, rear, and transfer case all needed fluid changing but when I looked at the service manual it doesn't mention anything about servicing the diffs. So how often should we be servicing them?

Re: Whats the schedule for changing our diff fluids?

makes sense, except for the 8spd trans but that's a lifer fill anyway...

transfer case is replace every 30k
front and rear diffs are inspect/replace 24k (severe), 48k normal

I just replace my diffs every 24k since my hammering is above average owner and the rear is an elsd.

Re: Whats the schedule for changing our diff fluids?

that guy is an alarmist that fluid was golden and fine, I have done many many a pan drop and change, magnets always have some level of metal on them. I don't believe in fill for life a bit but every 30 or 40k or whatever he is saying is excessive, unless you are really continually running hard or towing hard. Especially when the dealer wants $1000 to change it

Oh i agree guy is kinda an extremist if you look through his channel he does have some decent info.

I would change it every 60k just me. I don't believe any fluid is good for life. I change the nag1 one every 30k because it's cheap to do.

yeah I did the same, did it at 30k when it used to cost me about $40 to change it. This one I agree will be a 60-70k change probably. this one is kind of a pain to fill but I think a little cheap o fluid pump is a good investment to get it filled up before it heats up too much.

Page 577 does not give interval of diff changes, page 609 starts the detailed services and the diffs are not mentioned in them NOR is there a list found on 680 of your link in the SRT owner's manual. So while I thank you for the link, I hope that you understand why I posed my original question despite already seeking my owners manual (I have printed page 680 and added it to my owners manual).

The 4x4 service is $500 for both diffs ($240 per diff alone) and the transfer case ($160 alone) from my dealer, however two things came up when I went to pick up my SRT.
1. The dealer decided to not do the transfer case service since it was 10k miles too early.
2. They stated that the drain plug on the transfer case is stripped.

Despite it being early, changing the transfer case fluids early would of been more cost effective since I paired $480 for the diffs and will have to pay $160 within the next year to get the transfer case done vs paying $500 with the 4x4 service. Also, the last transfer case service was done by the same dealer and now they're saying the drain plug is stripped but cannot give me a reason why or what they are going to do about until I go to service the transfer case in 10k miles... Dealer was nice enough to credit me $160 on todays service so the total balances out.
