2012 SRT Sandy Storm Damage

I thought a share a photo of a 2012 SRT that we are working on. This truck was extensively damage during Super Storm Sandy and basically is being completely repainted. The owner originally had some a small center strip of carbon fiber vinyl in the middle of the hood and wanted to give the truck an updated look, so I came up with this. The center is a 2012 Chrysler grey pearl, and the sides are gloss black surrounded by the same grey pearl we used in the center. We are also painting the chrome grille trim in Brilliant Black as well as the chrome trim on the tail gate and back bumper. Overall the customer wanted something subtle yet just enough to give the truck a little more custom look and I think we accomplished that with this design.

Re: 2012 SRT Sandy Storm Damage

Thanks...the 2012 hood is starting to grow on me. I still have the old hood so maybe I'll mold it and try to make it work on my 05. I should have the finished shots of this truck early next week. I finally took the truck outside today and I have to say that the grey doesn't stand out as much as it does in the photo, which is exactly what the owner wanted.

Insurance paid for all the work on the truck...close to 13K worth of damage. His old hood wasn't all that bad but he wanted a new hood and since its aluminum the insurance company agreed to replace it. I'll make a mold off it and adapt it to my 05 to give it a one off look.

Re: 2012 SRT Sandy Storm Damage

Very cool! I like the hood stripe a lot, not so sure about the red hood vents, might just be the weird angle pict though! Needs the wheels painted now, front and back are nicely done, now the side view needs attention!

Re: 2012 SRT Sandy Storm Damage

The hood vents were previously painted by the owner a bright red, and certainly would not have fit in with the new design of the hood paint. I ended up painting them the same color I use around the middle color to give the overall look a more consistent feel about it. The owner likes it....and thats what counts.

Thanks...I've had alot of positive comments about it on our facebook page and even over on the red forum. Pretty surprised by it to be honest..most Jeep guys don't like anything but performance improvements...lol.
