Mike has been doing my lights for nearly 10 years now on different cars...we had an arrangement from my previous car for these before he ever started on them. You should contact him directly through his website...tell him exactly what you want (he can do a LOT more than he did hear - this was all I wanted done though) and ask him how much.
Price for the conversion is $1200, this includes full disassembly, modification, cleaning, re-assembly and testing to ensure no problems with water leakage.
Never thought about getting rid of the amber corners on this car - they just haven't stuck out to me as bad as some other vehicles have.
Don't get me wrong, they do stick out when you really look at them... but for $1,200? No way in hell. How many hours of labor is this guy really putting into this? That is exorbitant in every sense of the word. I'd go $300 tops. It's a 3 inch piece of plastic. Yes the process of taking apart the headlights is a pain, but guys do it ALL THE TIME for halo's...
Well I'm sure there are many things in your life that you spend money on that I don't approve of but that's really none of my business, right ?
The point of this thread was to inform and show people, not to ask for input on what people think is an acceptable way to spend my own money on my own car.
Again...different people have different tastes, incomes, priorities, etc.
I've been working with Mike for about 10 years...I'm not going to pay and trust some guy I don't know $300 to work on my $1,300 (each) lights and hope everything goes smoothly.
They are OEM for the SRT as I have that same eyelid on mine - as do all others I've seen. Not sure if functional (maybe helps focus beam) or just cosmetic.
I think it's great. The yellow markers drive me nuts. I want the clear marker, smoked with a yellow LED switchback bulb. That said, I've opened a number of headlights on my own but it's a bit scary with $1600 headlights and I'm not sure where to get the clear lens.
