I have never seen a cop yank on a license plate to see if it will come off.

The OP came up with a practical solution. But, to me, having the plate off to the side hurts the look of the car more than the standard bracket.

If you live where you will always have a front plate, what's wrong with drilling holes to mount it? I kind of understand that some have a real aversion to a front plate. But if you are going to mount it anyway, why not bolt it on. You, and nobody else, will see the holes.

Bazinga. Made my day. Thanks for the laugh.

I get about 1 ticket a year for no front plate. Last time I was told if I get caught again, I will have a court appearance. Breaks my hart to ruin a car ......

For the srt8 owners. I thought the build comes with a front plate. Am I wrong?

Not true in VA. You have to sign a wavier if you don't want the dealer to install the front plate. And that's only if you order the car. If you buy it off the lot the have already installed it for you....

Ditto. If I had my way I would have never left Detroit. More jobs and closer to family here.

I'm liking the magnet idea... Maybe cut the heads off of some screws & epoxy them to the plate to make it look like it's securely attached. I got pinched for no plate the other day & I'm sure it was a probable cause stop. My truck was nice & clean, but I looked like shit (probably because I just spent the whole day detailing). I was driving through a pretty crummy neighborhood, and the LEO was parked perpendicular to the road in the "profiling" position. His first words to me when I pulled over were "Is this your car?"

I'm pretty sure he decided to stop me because I didn't look right in the vehicle. I got off with a verbal warning because I am AWESOME at dealing with officers when I get pulled over.

Edit: Not sure why this formatting went kamikazee on me, but, yeah...

I actually removed the front bumper and epoxied 4 rare earth magnets to the inside of the bumper. Then I did the same to the back of the license plate and sprayed plasti dip on the back of the plate to avoid it scratching the paint.
