Re: Custom front license plate bracket

In Texas, most dealers will look the other way if an SRT (or other high-end make) buyer wants to leave the lot without front plates. The bracket actually comes in the make-ready kit with floor mats, wheel caps, etc., so it's up to the dealer whether to install. I suspect your Autonations and other corporate dealers have the brackets put on without thinking twice.

The 2014s I've seen all have little dimples in the bumper where the screws should go. Removes the guesswork but kind of defeats the purpose of not mounting the bracket because the bumper isn't completely smooth...the dimples would annoy me more than the bracket.

Re: Custom front license plate bracket

does anyone on here know if the motorized, hidden plate holder would work on the '14 SRT? I doubt it could be mounted the same as on the older versions due to the adaptive SC sensor. I pick my new SRT up this week and would like to have something ready to use when I get home as I had the dealer remove and repair front plate. See the one used in the video below.

Re: Custom front license plate bracket

I purchased a bracket from Craig's custom Mustang brackets. Fit's nicely in the slip of the Jeep Grand Cherokee bumper slip. I purchased the 2010-2012 Mustang Satin Black Bracket for my 2012 WK2. Made in America, designed by an American military soldier out of Virginia. Great purchase!

Re: Custom front license plate bracket

Ok, so after a hellish winter here in Chicago, the motorized license plate holder seized in the up position. I tried "softly" forcing it down and snapped something off. Needless to say, it is no longer motorized. Even when it was working, it didn't work that smoothly. I wish there was another manufacturer out there that made one more durable. I even paid to have it installed professionally. The problem is there really is no other way to mount it except under the front fascia, which is extremely low to the ground. Unless you plan on cutting out the mesh grill in the air dam, I would not recommend the motorized plate holder on 2014.

Best solution yet, but is this SRTable with the brake cooling ducts and all?

Re: Custom front license plate bracket

I had received a no plate front ticket while parked (thank you privatized Chicago parking enforcement) and decided it was time to get the front plate put on. Like many others on this thread, I did not want to put holes in the front of the vehicle, and this bracket fit what I needed.

I picked this plate bracket up from Big Mike's Performance Parts (bigmikesperformanceparts.com) out of CA. I spoke with Mike a couple of times and he is a great dude to work with. He went to two different dealerships looking for a 2014 SRT to test fit to, before sending me my custom made bracket.

I have a passport 9500ci system installed, and I could not put the plate toward the center of the vehicle. I did not want to block the sensors, which are on either side of the ACC eye hidden in the lower grille. I had to go all the way to one side to make it work, but overall I am very happy with the end result.
