Disguised SRT?

Bear with me guys,

I have always been a fan of sleepers, and in some sense I feel that the Grand Cherokee SRT is, in of itself, a sleeper. I will say, though, that I can usually spot one fairly quickly.

Do you think it would be possible to disguise an SRT as a Summit? I've seen some people modify their Higher trim Grand Cherokee's to look like the SRT, but I have yet to see anyone try to make the SRT look more like the general lineup (because, I guess, why would they? haha).

Re: Disguised SRT?

Dunno why you would bother, however. If you removed the badges and changed the wheels, most people will not pick it.

Re: Disguised SRT?

Is it possible to put a different set of wheels on it while still fitting the brembos? I also thought of the possibility of putting a summit grill on the front as well, as the front fascia can be a dead giveaway. Again, I know it's one of those "why bother" ideas, but that's exactly why I think it would catch people off guard.

Re: Disguised SRT?

They will see the brakes and know it is a SRT. My car is debadged and anyone who knows car will spot it straight away, that and the 2 big holes in the bonnet is a sure giveaway

Re: Disguised SRT?

The hood is a dead giveaway that it isn't your ordinary GC. That is the first thing that non-car people mention about my SRT...brakes (or those "red things on the wheels") are also a dead giveaway to them.

Re: Disguised SRT?

Why would you change things on the SRT to make it look like a "sleeper" or a lower grade of Jeep? It's a bad ass machine and it should look like a bad ass machine.
Just my opinion.

In all honesty, I probably wouldn't. It is certainly a bad ass machine. The reason I would change it, is so that other people wouldn't necessarily expect it to be so powerful at first glance. The Summit trim level sports some similar features to the SRT, and I think if I were to go crazy and make a "sleeper" I would change the front grill to that of a Summit. For the record, I don't consider the other top trim levels (Overland, Summit) to be "below" the SRT. They are meant for off road use (Summit is arguable), which is what originally brought me to the jeep lineup.

I think an SRT would still be an SRT even with a swapped front bumper, I just wouldn't go lower than the Summit trim options.

For the record, I am just entertaining an idea here. I hope to purchase an SRT Grand Cherokee during the next redesign, and I doubt I would touch a thing if I bought it (same goes for if I had one parked outside right now).

Yeah,...no hard feelings.
I do like the '15 Summit Jeep. That is a bad ass machine as well. I had actually thought about buying the Summit at one point. It's a very, very nice Jeep and that 4X4 is key for winters here in the Northeast.
Good luck man.

Re: Disguised SRT?

Oh, so wait. You don't actually have one yet. And you want a sleeper for...street racing? And you want to change out the front fascia to eliminate the brake cooling ducts and increased engine ventilation so people think you have a Summit? I'm guessing you are young, so start with the small things like chrome door handles and mirror covers on your SRT. That'll bring em to you at the next red light.

Guys, I said this was just speculation. I do not race people, I'm not trying to get someone killed.

I'm sorry you're so offended at the idea of tweaking a vehicle, but the whole reason I even thought of it was so that other people wouldn't spot it and want to race. I explained above that I probably wouldn't do any of this, a man can dream can't he?
