It's usually done by a professional installer at a body shop or tint shop. I don't know of anyone that has done it themselves around my area.

Re: Here's Pics of my PPF (paint film protection)

I have it on mine as well the blotches you see is the UV protectant in the film. Look at your sunroof with polarized glasses and you will see the same thing. I had mine done at a shop the reason being is they warranty it for life. You can order the kits yourself and do it but no warranty. I love it they even will fix minor rock chips through the xpel using a diabetic needle and touch up paint. The xpel will self heal where they inject and you can't even tell. I did all my grill rings lower and upper because I have mine painted. They even did the little SRT that I installed in the lower grill area. The shop I used had an on site scanner so they could render the extra pieces and make custom wraps, the best mod I have done hands down to keep it looking nice!

It's not the film but the water based paint, Look at your rear doors and you may see the same marks with the orange peel, Film does look great, Great looking GC.

Re: Here's Pics of my PPF (paint film protection)

Shub if you go on the Xpel web page there will be a dealer locator. They are ranked with what they can provide to the customer. The one I picked in my area was the only one that had the plotter to do custom work. A lot of them carry the film and the generic pieces for each model vehicle but very few have the capability to do the custom stuff. I think they were called power dealers or something like that!

Re: Here's Pics of my PPF (paint film protection)

What is rough cost to have this done, say for front bumper, fascia, bikini on the hood, headlamps and rear view mirrors?

Just so there is no confusion, these are the blotches you see when you wear polarized sunglasses with silver color paint and xpel. Has to be in sunlight.

Re: Here's Pics of my PPF (paint film protection)

I think with all the custom pieces I spent about $900 out the door.
