How to Remove Step Pad Surround?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the rear bumper step pad surround (plastic/chrome) from a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you,

Tom

Re: How to Remove Step Pad Surround?

hey tom....its kinda tedious but easy. the surround and pad are 2 different pieces. Pry up the front and sides of the pad(black part) all the way across the front of it and as much of the sides as you can get.(you cant remove the black step pad part unless you remove the bumper or brake its clips) Then the chrome surround just clips into the bumper(youll see what I mean when you get to it.) Id advise placing painters tape all around the painted portions of the bumper around the chrome surround to avoid any scratching of paint.
