Damn, I was thinking $300 was pretty steep for fake CF, but maybe I'm underestimating the hydrodipping process. Not many people do it, so it makes sense that there's a hefty premium on the service.

300 is in the right ballpark for sure. maybe even a deal.

they need to paint the part gray or something first, maybe black,
after the dipping they have to apply an automotive clear.

its like having the parts professionally painted and oh yeah they do this dipping process in between the layers.

durability is all in the clear layer so its as important as the dipping/

Yes, I would say that $300 is not steep at all considering all the process, time, and skill it takes. The guy I went to put a metallic clear finish on it that looks amazing in the sunlight. Also, he did a black air brushing in the corners and crevices that ties it all together. Seems very durable and looks great!
