LED's in DRL's? what led is needed?

I got some VLED 3157 led's for my DRLs and they dont work at all! What do we need to add these? I thought it was a straight swap?

Check the voltage supplied to the DRL's. They are very dim which leads me to believe they are not getting a full 12V which is what would be required to fire off the LED's.

Wasn't there a post somewhere about needing to rewire the connector for the DRL's?

---------- Post added at 11:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:58 AM ----------

I searched and although there are a number of threads about conversion most of them are regular WK2's. Honestly, I don't know why the large DRL's are even powered on our trucks, they aren't powered as DRL's, just as annoying dim yellow lights when the headlights are on. I've contemplated removing them all together.

To make them work you will need to wire in a relay that will trigger on the supplied voltage and supply the LED with 12V.

I don't like DRLs. They ruin the look of any car. They are useful in some countries only so I don'y know why they fit all the cars with them.

Re: LED's in DRL's? what led is needed?

Did anyone else come up with other solutions for the DRL?

Is there a Bright White bulb (not necessarily LED) available?

Hi,

if you just remove the bulb, is there not any msg popping up, the bulb is damaged aso?

But yeah best solution so far, better than the annoying yellow light in there!

Re: LED's in DRL's? what led is needed?

I have been using these for a while now.

The work on the Euro spec headlight and SRT's

You get a xenon white light output that matched the HID output in color.

No more ugly yellow and less heat.
