Nitto 420s, Any experience with them?

Anyone have any experiences with these tires? They have some great reviews. Are they better then the Yokohama Prada's or Toyo Spec X's?

If anyone knows the max tire size that will fit under a RM Mid drop (22" wheel size) that would be awesome too!

Re: Nitto 420s, Any experience with them?

Ive had several sets of nitto 420s on 3 different jeep srt's. For your wk2 jeep srt...youll want a 285 35, 285 40 or 305 35 22. Nitto sells the 420s in 285 35 and 285 40. Look at the pic in my sig...those are 285 35 22. I liked the nitto 420s
...really good in snow, wet and dry. Not an all out performance tire...but decent. I took my current jeep anywhere i wanted last winter on a half worn set of nitto 420s. One time was in 18" of snow...even dropped with a blackops lip. I had to transport police officers up a hill into my neighborhood during one event. They couldnt believe how easy I went. Part was the jeep...but part was the tires too. Good tires imho.

Thanks Scott,

Your signature was where i got my inspiration from when I was browsing wheels / tires about a month back!

Are you using the factory WK1 reps from Black Ops? If so, what offset did you go for? Also are you happy with 285 width? Would the 305 rub on a drop?

Re: Nitto 420s, Any experience with them?

They were the wk1.reps from blackops. I have 305 35 22s on concavos now...but I was ok with the 285 35. 305 just looks so much wider.

Re: Nitto 420s, Any experience with them?

Have you experienced any rubbing with the 305s combined with a drop? Also, where did you manage to find 305/35/22, I've only managed to find 305/40/22 as the lowest aspect ratio?

Thanks for all your help, it's greatly appreciated!

Re: Nitto 420s, Any experience with them?

It depends on the wheel. My concavos with 305 rubbed just a hair on the front fender black strip. It all depends on the offset. I have the 305 35 22 pirellis which are in back order everywhere. I have seen a.305 35 22 lionhart tire here in the forums. Darkhue has a set. They are new to market...so not many reviews yet.
